If All Else Fails...(Music AU)(Up For Adoption)

~Chapter 4~

~Katsuki~

"So what does this mean? How will he get permission?" I asked completely confused with this situation.

"Well we need to contact his foster parents. It says on his record that before he started high school, he lived with the Yumigota's the only problem is that we haven't been able to get a hold of them."

Wait. So he did have a family before high school. WHY DIDNT SHE JUST LEAD WITH THAT?!

"So what now?" Todoroki chimed in.

"We aren't exactly sure. This has never happened. For right now all we can do is put the arm in a splint for now while we get an CT on his head."

"Ok. Will he wake up before the...amputation?" That word feels like poison on my tongue. 

"Hard to say. There was obvious head trauma. With the amount of damage his body already has, it wouldn't be too surprising if there was enough swelling to put in in at least a short-term coma."

"A COMA?!" We all say in unison. 

"Unfortunatly yes. Without the CT it is hard to say the full extent on the damage. As soon as we get the results we will update you."

"Thank you! You were the best and manliest nurse ever!" Kiri said. I mentally facepalmed. The nurses face had a hurt look plastered onto it. I slapped the back of his head while Todoroki apologized for his comment. (I had to)

About 34 minutes later the nurse comes back out.

"So? Whats going on."

"Well...unfortunately there was some swelling. There's no telling when or if he will wake up. With similar cases the shortest time it took was 2 days...the longest being...2 years."

I couldn't believe what she was saying. The air felt trapped in my lungs.

"The good is that we do see some brain function...meaning if he does wake up, the wait wont be too long."

This made me feel a LITTLE better. 

"I would li-"

She was cut off. 

"Avery, the Yumigota's are on the phone."

"Ah, that would be my cue to leave. Unfortunately no one is allowed in his room at the moment. I would suggest going home and coming back in the morning."

No one moved. No way in heck am I leaving until I know what is going on with my best friend.

"Bakubro? Are you alright?"

"What do you think?! I just watched my best friend die, then be brought back to life! Now I have to see the look on his face when he finds out his dreams are crushed because of my mistake! So NO, I'm NOT ok."

I stormed off. somehow my wallet was still in my pocket even after the crash. I made my way to the vending machine and got a drink. I was still wearing my clothes from the crash, which were now ripped and bloody, so I made a not so smart decision. I pulled up my phone and rang the old hag.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT BRAT?!"

"I'm not in the mood for yelling. Can you just find some of my old clothes that still fit me and bring them to the Hosu city hospital?" 

"WHY ARE YOU AT THE HOSPITAL?! DID SOMETHING HAPPEN?!"

"We got into a wreck...The details don't matter right now."

"What do you mean 'We'? Who was with you?"

"It was Izuku...I...look Ill explain everything when you get here..."

"Alright. I'm already in the car and drivin- Omg Katsuki where was the wreck?"

"I don't know exactly. We were in Izuku's car."

"What type of car does he have?"

"I think its a (Insert random car name. I'm too lazy.) Why?"

"I can see the fire department cleaning up the wreckage. Geez Katsuki how bad was this crash. Were you hurt?"

"The crash was...really bad. I'm not hurt too bad. I got a few stitches on my leg. They want to do x-rays just to make sure its not fractured. I'm in a boot for now. That's the worst of my problems."

"And Izuku?"

"He...look just hurry up and get here so I can explain."

"Ok. I see the hospital now. Where are you at."

"We are in the ICU waiting room."

"ICU?! Dear lord what happened to Izuku?!"

~After Mitsuki arrived and has been informed on the situation~

(Still Katsuki)

After I finished changing the nurse called me back for some x-rays.

I was put into a cast, but honestly I didn't care. I needed to know how Izuku was doing.

I go back to the waiting room and the old hag runs up to me.

"Is it broken?!"

"No DUH! Now how is Izuku?"

Round face came up to me.

"We haven't gotten any real update. Just that the Yumigota's are on there way."

This was good. It meant that I could meet them. I needed to know how Izu has been treated for god knows how long.

"Anyway how are y-"

This time Uraraka (Her name is hard to type Urarararararakaaaaa) was cut off.

"We are the Yumigota's! Where is Izu?!" 

They conversed with the nurses for a bit, then they signed the consent form. Meaning Izuku was going to go into surgery now.

" Mr. and Mrs. Yumigota?" I needed to introduce myself. They turned around and saw me.

"Yes? Is there something we could help you with?" Mrs. Yumigota had tears rolling down her face. They looked genuinely scared.

"I'm Kastsuki Bakugo. Izuku's best friend."

"Oh Bakugo yes! Izu talks about you all the time! Oh my- were you in the crash as well?"

'Yes, and I'm so sorry about Izuku."

"Yes...well he's a strong boy. He will pull through. I just feel so bad. He never really had the best childhood. We tried our best to help him, and make him happy. We surely thought that when he was accepted into UA that things would change but...seems like the odds aren't in his favor."

I had assumed his childhood wasn't the greatest. He never talked about it. Making me assume it was private.

We talked for quite a while. About 3 hours later the nurse came out calling Izuku's name.

"So? how is my baby?!" Mrs. Yumigota talked with urgency.

"The operation was successful, now we need to wait for him to wake up. That's all the information I have."

We thanked the nurse, and made our way to his room. When we got there I saw him laying on the bed. Stitches in his head, and a mountain of gauze on the part of his arm that was left.

All we can do now...is wait.
