The siege of Chittorgarh was fought  (20 October 1567 – 23 February 1568) the Mughal came with a small force but kept on getting reinforced by more and more Mughals. At last, the fort of chittor was surrounded and outnumbered. The mewari force didn't give up and kept on fighting Generals of Mewar sent  Maharana partab's father Udai Singh and maharana partab's son Rana Amar Singh with the family to a safe place out of chittor. The Mughals built a huge mountain of sand and mud, they placed huge cannons a kept on firing every day and night. The Mughals thought that they outnumbered them so they all-out attacked the Chittor fort but, suddenly some afghans reinforced the Mewar army and they stood another day. Maharana partab and his wife were sent out of Mewar before the saka and Jauhar.

About 8,000 mewari force came out and attacked about 40,000 Mughals, with courage and braveness, but the Mughal outnumbered them and won the siege. So the Mughals won the siege and thought that the king's family will never rebel because they had captured the capital of Mewar so the kings' families would be hopeless, but it was there biggest mistake.
