Loathing, Despair, and Indifference are the opposites to the parts of a monster soul. Though we know monsters to be a nice, kind-hearted people, Loathing, Despair, and Indifference will cause a monster to act more like the monsters we humans have convinced ourselves to believe in.
Loathing causes a monster to have a true hatred for all life, its own included. It is a feeling of true disliking and disgust, and it taints the Love that once made up a monster soul.
Despair makes one lose all Hope for any joy. A monster defiled by it may wish for not only others, but its own life to end. It crushes all Hope the monster once had.
Indifference is, in the simplest terms, a lack of Compassion. It causes monsters to lose all care and interest they had for anything. An indifferent monster is nothing more than a savage.
Without the Love, Hope and Compassion they once had, monsters are no longer the ones found underneath Mount Ebott. Instead, they are exactly what the legends we created called them. Beasts. Bogeymen. Fiends. Demons.
Monsters.
