“I’ve told you before, Cooper! I’ve told you so many times that I don't wanna do this! Why do you keep trying to force me?” Travis yelled, his eyes filled with tears. Cooper tried to get out a sentence, stuttering as he thought hard about how to convince his friend. He was suddenly aware of everyone in the backyard staring at them through the window and his heart picked up speed. “Travis, it really isn’t a big deal. You don’t have to go in or anything! Just sit outside and-” Travis cut him off. “I’m not going to sit outside that house and wait for you!” He pulled the blanket tighter around him, trying to gather the courage to get up and leave. “I don’t wanna be anywhere near it, Cooper! I don’t wanna even talk about it. Please.”

Travis’ phone lit up with a phone call. It was his aunt. He tossed the blanket off and grabbed his phone, not bothering to answer the call, and started walking out of the room. “I gotta go,” He murmered, wiping tears from his face and trying hard not to hyperventilate. “Travis!” Cooper grabbed Travis’ arm. Bad idea. Travis whirled around and shoved Cooper against the wall, making a loud bang. Something fell off the wall, but Travis didn’t dare look back, starting to cry again as he flung open the door, sprinting towards his aunts car.

Cooper picked up the picture frame on the ground and started to chase after Travis, but he was too late. The bright red taillights of  Travis’ car were already too far down the street. They blurred in Coopers vision as tears filled his eyes, threatening to spill. He held back his tears and puffed out his chest, watching until he could no longer see the red in the distance.
