CASEY'S P.O.V:

I ran through the school corridors rushing to get to my mum. She never would pull me out of school unless it was extremely important. I was beginning to get worried.

I ran around corners apologizing to those who I had knocked over. My mums car was parked out the front of the school and I could see her waiting anxiously in the drivers seat. I ran up to my shiny car and yanked open the door.

"What....Is....Going....On?" I asked between gasps for air. My mother turned the car on and sped off. We lived a short distance from school so it didn't take long before we got to my house and were inside.

I grew impatient. "What is wrong!" I repeated practically yelling it. She sat down next to me on our expensive leather couch and began to explain.

"Nothing is wrong. I just need to explain something to you before it's too late," my mother said. I furrowed my brows.

"What do you mean?"

My mother flattened out her skirt before continuing. I could tell by her manor that this was an important thing to her.

"You are a paranormal hunter. Casey, there are weird and wonderful creatures out there. Most horrifyingly dangerous, others manipulatively sweet," my mother told me with a smile on her face.

"What the hell are you talking about?" this made no sense what so ever, but I was willing to understand.

"I know it's a lot to take in. Your father and I are paranormal hunters to. Our job is to protect humans from creatures such as vampires, werewolves, shape shifters and demons. It's a dangerous job, Casey, but you are born into it. Your blood isn't normal. You aren't a full human," by now my mother was grinning like a cheshire cat.

"Let me get this straight. I'm not a full human. "Mythical creatures" are real. My job is to hunt these vicious creatures, and I do it alone?" I asked. I have to admit, I was totally excited. Not at all was I disappointed or scared about my job.

"You are spot on with everything. Except the last part. You don't work alone," my mum informed me as she took a sip if her tea.

"Then who do I work with?"

"Chelsea Haylorth is your partner."

My mouth fell open in realization. No wonder I was becoming more drawn to her. We were partners and worked for the most dangerous jobs in the world. I was so excited. I had so many questions.

"When do I start? Do I have to train? How do I know who I hunt if they look like humans?" My questions came flooding from my mouth. My mum laughed at my enthusiasm.

"You start on Sasha's birthday. You do not need to train. Hunting mystical creatures is in your blood. When you see a vampire or werewolf, you'll know. They will glow faintly and an image will appear. Each creature has a symbol representing their species. That's how you will know each individual species when you see one."

"You do realize Casey, this job isn't a joke. Everyday you will be hunting. Each night you will be patrolling. You need to keep your identity a secret. Your father and I have kept the secret for over forty years now. Don't blow your cover," my mother finished as she walked out the room.

She soon returned with a small iron bracelet. I had seen my mum wearing it many times. It was beautiful and so unique.

"These are your weapons," my mother said with a smile.

I stared at the bracket closely. Each charm had a different weapon. My mother touched one and it transformed into a full size sword. She clipped it back onto the charm and it shrank down again. I stared in astonishment.

"Teach me how you did that!" I asked extremely excited.

"It's simple. Touch it, think about the creature, and it will transform. Have a try," my mother replied, handing the charm bracket to me.

I did as I was told, but stopped. "I don't know what creature this weapon defeats," I said.

"I see. Close your eyes. You haven't fully completed you change into a paranormal hunter yet," I closed my eyes as I was told and heard my mum speaking a foreign language.

"Separa menuti alacarman tashunico!"

"Now try to transform a charm,"

I chose a small looking dagger and immediately knew it was for killing ogres. I concentrated on killing an ogre with this small dangerous looking weapon and I felt the dagger enlarge in my palm.

I smiled in satisfaction. I clipped it back onto the charm and in returned to it's original size. I placed the bracelet on my left wrist and jangled it around.

It felt so perfect on my hand. It was still so surreal that I was a paranormal hunter working with Chelsea. I wonder if she knew what she was?

Another question popped into my brain. What was it my mother had said to transform me?

"Mum, what did you say in that language?"

"Transform under my eyes."

Wow! I was a paranormal hunter and it was my secret. None of my friends could know. Not even Sasha.
