ORIGINAL P.O.V:

I was extremely bored today. Everyone was out of the house and my legs were way too tired to go swimming for a third time. I decided I should buy decorations for my party. It was only a few days away until I would be sixteen years old. I was so excited yet nervous.

I had so many plans for my future. Most of my dreams revolved around swimming and being one with the water, but I had other dreams to. I had always wanted to have a big family and marry a farmer. I have no clue why, but it was just something that had gotten stuck in my head. However I have a lot of time to change my mind from farmer to successful business man. The details could be sorted later. I laughed at the thought of having the ability to choose who you fell in love with. I'm sure it was just a natural feeling that would come when the time came.

I grabbed my small purse, checking that I had money, then walked out the door. I swiftly walked over to my car, as my skirt blew in the gentle breeze. It was a hot day so my hair was up messily and I had a tank-top on. Lately the weather had been so up and down. Yesterday I was wearing a knitted jumper and jeans, today I looked like I was ready for summer!

I fumbled for my car keys but soon retrieved them from the bottom of extremely messy bag. I turned on my truck hit the road. I blasted the radio up to forty eight and was singing to Taylor swift. I loved singing but I was terrible. No one had ever yheard me sing before and I wasn't planning on putting people through the pain.

There was only a few small malls around the place. We were the only country town in my area, to have big city stores. I particularly liked Valleygirl and Tempt. Yes I was a swimming country bumpkin, but I had a little city spice. I liked to party and have fun and I liked to swim and enjoy the musty air. I really had the best of both worlds. My life was like a fairy tale dream. Perfect for me and that's how I wanted it to stay.

I rounded a sharp corner and slammed down hard on my brakes. My head flung forward in an uncomfortable fashion and my seatbelt cut into my neck harshly. A car had swerved in front of me and wasn't planing on stopping any time soon. I had only seen it last minute, but a minute to late would have been the end of me. I was in utter shock. I was shivering and gasping for air even though my lungs were full.

I sat in my car breathing heavily. I regained my thinking and was just able to be classified as out of shock. I drove back onto the road, thankfully unharmed, and turned into the parking lot of the mall shortly. I turned off my car once I was parked and headed into the shops.

I began to think over the near accident as I picked out party supplies. I tried to recall what the driver looked like. Were they male or female? Short hair, long hair, old, young? I didn't have a clue, because there was no driver.

No one was driving that car.

I finally finished shopping and had returned to my old little house. I put away the decorations I had bought for the grand total of $100. Casey had decided that the colours were going to be, blue, black, pink and white, so all my decor were in those colours.

I walked into the kitchen and made myself a hot chocolate. I picked up my cell phone and dialed Casey's number in it. Casey picked up on the fifth ring. "Hello my lovely friend!" Casey chimed.

"Hey Case!" I replied with a little less of a snazzy tone. I sat on the couch sipping my warm beverage.

"What's up?"

"Weird things have been happening lately. The day you left school I found a shadow, but nothing that could possibly have made it. Today I was driving to the mall and I nearly got hit by a car.... With no driver. I have no clue what in the hay is going on round here!" By the end of my whining I was pacing back and forth, up on my feet and alert.

"Calm down Sash. There are perfectly logical explanations. Don't worry about it. Now go have a shower and then hop into bed. Your birthday is in two days!" Casey said. Her tone was not convincing what so ever, but I was too tired to argue.

We said our good byes and we hung up. I really could not be bothered thinking about today. I did as Casey had said and took a nice, hot shower. I changed into my comfiest PJ's and ate dinner. Alone.

I heated up some left over pasta and chugged it down. I washed the dishes quickly and retreated back up to my small confined room. I lay down on my bed, snuggled into my blanket and fell into the deep blissful dream of sleep.

Nothing made sense these days, and nothing ever would. I was almost certain that bad things were upon.
