Nightshade, the young dragon, sat on the edge of a hill watching all the other young dragons play in the valley below.
"Makes you wanna go down there and join in the fun, eh Nightshade?" A soft voice perched up behind her.
Nightshade turned her head to see a black night-fury. It was Echo, her best friend. Echo was a black night-fury with Blue, Purple and pink of the underside of her wings and also had blue eyes. Echo was a peaceful dragon and didn't like causing trouble.
"Hi Echo" Nightshade welcomed.
"Soooo, what are you doing?" Echo asked curious.
"I'm multi-tasking, watching the sunset and watching the other dragons have fun!" She replied.
Echo smiled then said "come on, lets go down there"
Echo jumped of the edge opening her wings, as she glided down the hillside to the bottom of the valley.
"Hey, wait up" Nightshade shouted after Echo.
Nightshade opened her wings and jumped of the edge. Nightshade was a Dark blue Elemental Night-fury, she had light blue eyes and black claws. Nightshade was only 14 years old, which is young for a dragon. Echo was 15 years old and she also had an element, Light.
Although Echo has black scales, her coloured wings represent the Element, Light. Echo's black scales hide the fact that she has the Light Element, which is good in defence. Nightshades and Echos Element haven't been awakened yet cause they are still young and neither of them know that they hold an element.
Nightshade glided past echo pocking her tongue out while smiling. As she flew down towards the valley below she spotted her friend Fern. Fern always seemed like a scaredy cat but on the inside, she could terrorise whoever she pleased, but she never harmed anyone on purpose.
Nightshade and Echo flew over some of the dragons that were in the valley, til they got down to fern. Fern was sitting on the top of a huge pine tree with her eyes closed.
'What is she doing?' Nightshade thought. 'Hi Nightshade' A voice said in her mind. 'Oh, right, i forgot you can talk through mind link!' Nightshade replied. Fern opened her eyes and turned her head towards the 2 dragons hovering by her side.
"Hi Nightshade, Hi Echo!" She greeted.
"Hiiiiiiii" Echo squealed.
"Hi Fern" Nightshade said.
"Soo, what are you up to" Echo asked.
"I'm talking with the trees" Fern replied.
Fern looked towards Nightshade and Echo asking, "Aren't you gonna land?"
"Oh right!!" Nightshade exclaimed.
Fern shuffled aside making room for nightshade and echo. Nightshade landed beside Fern as Echo jumped to the branch above.
"So, what were the tree's saying" Echo asked curiously tilting her head.
"Well...One of them said that 2 Eggs in the hatchery are hatching!" Fern explained.
Nightshade perked up saying, "which hatchery???".
Fern slowly said, "The unknown egg hatchery..."
There was a dead silence when suddenly nightshade shouted, "WE HAVE TO GET THERE RIGHT NOW!!!"
"whoa, calm down Nightshade, is an egg in that cave that important to you?" Echo asked.
"yes yes yes, i recently brought three unknown eggs into Kaylic Cavecity and into that hatchery, we need to get there now!!" Nightshade explained.
"okay then, Fern are you coming?" Echo asked after replying to Nightshade.
"naa, i'm gonna finish speaking with the trees, you two get going" Fern replied.
Nightshade jumped into the air turning her head to echo saying, "you coming?".
Echo smiled then jumped into the air just as Nightshade did.
Nightshade looked at Fern who had closed her eyes, 'well, what are you waiting for, go check on those eggs'. 'Thanks Fern, we'll come back later' Nightshade said through Ferns mind link.
"Ok Echo, lets go" Nightshade said as she flew forward.
"Bye Fern" Echo said enthusiastically, as she flew closer to Nightshade.
