Nightshade and Echo wing glided over to the Unknown Egg hatchery. 'I hope the eggs that are hatching are two of the ones i brought back from my hunt' she thought. Nightshade was excited to see who's eggs were hatching. Nightshades Dark blue scales started to shimmer a faint rainbow, as she flapped her large wings.
"hey nightshade?" Echo asked.
"yeah echo?" She replied.
"Well, what are you gonna do if one of the eggs hatching is one of the eggs you brought back from the hunt?" Echo asked curiously.
"Look after the hatchling of course!" Nightshade exclaimed.
"yeah, but how. Do you have any idea how hard it is to raise a hatchling of another species?!" Echo exclaimed.
"Nope, but i still wanna try" Nightshade explained.
-----Time skip 5 minutes-----
Nightshade and Echo swooped down to the Unknown Egg hatchery as a peaceful voice said from below, "Nightshade, the Blue watery Egg you brought in is about to hatch, get down here quick!"
Nightshade lifted her wings and flapped down hard to plummet upwards, then turning her body into a nose dive. She sped towards the ground, as the ground got closer, she popped her wings open and landed softly on the grassy field in front of the hatchery.
Nightshade and Echo approached the young female dragon at the entrance to the hatchery. She had White scales with a light green dot on her head, she was a healer dragon. Healer dragons get taught spells that have healing effects.
"good, you're here" she continued, as she turned around walking into the hatchery.
Nightshade and echo followed close behind walking past the 20 eggs that were in separate heated cave cases. All of the eggs were of a different colour shape and size, most of the eggs in the hatchery belonged to different species than dragons but were found by dragons in the hunt course.
As nightshade, echo and the healer dragon walked past the mysterious eggs, echo stopped by a bright silver egg asking, "hey nightshade, isn't that one of the eggs you brought in?".
"yeah it is but it was brought in recently so it shouldn't be ready to hatch!!" Nightshade explained as she kept walking forward.
They carefully approached the middle of the Hatchery where two eggs sat on a platform of hay. The first egg looked like a ball of water that had a light glow on it and the second egg was multi-coloured. Both eggs had a fair amount of cracks but the water egg had started to goo, which was a sign of health.
"This is so exciting, i wonder what they'll look like" Echo exclaimed.
Nightshade nodded then looked back towards the egg that was at the brink of hatching.
Slowly and carefully a small blue paw pushed its way through the egg shell then another and another, till a small bright blue dragon head popped out of the shell. Soon enough, the new born dragon pushed it's shell aside the propped its head towards Nightshade as it slowly opened its eyes.
The healer dragons inside the cave all turned their head to the new glowing baby dragon. The dragon that hatched out of the egg was a baby Colossal, the colossal breed are very rare and are rarely found. Despite how small the hatchlings are they grow so much bigger than any other dragon breed, except the dragons born with Elemental powers, they grow about the same size, despite the breed.
"kow kow" the little dragon squawked as it waddled over to Nightshade who was filled with awe. Nightshade walked closer to the baby dragon, lowering her head so it could climb up onto her.
"CRRRRAAAACKKK!!!!" a loud noise echoed through the cave, sending a shiver down Nightshades spine.
"what was that!" Echo exclaimed looking around frantically.
Nightshade carefully tapped Echos shoulder with her right wing, catching her attention making her focus on the multi-coloured egg that now had a large crack right through the middle of it.
