My dad was so gonna kill me. I slowly turned around, coming face to face with a clearly furious dad.
"Alex! What were you thinking! I told you to stay away from my study!"
I tried to get myself to form sentences. I was so distracted by my dad that i didn't realize how the voice suddenly went silent the moment my dad arrived.
"I-i'm sorry dad... i was just curious"
That was all i had managed to say. I remember my dad's expression suddenly softening. His eyes had that weird look."You're hallucinating again Lexie.. None of this is real.."
For some reason, i started to feel lightheaded after i heard his words. "You will wake up at the hospital very soon. Just give in..."
I felt my eyelids drop. The last thing I saw before it all got dark was my dad, making a phone call. When I opened my eyes, I was in a hospital bed. I didn't remember getting there. Wait- what about the lab. Was it all a dream?
My dad was sitting next to me with a worried expression. I looked around for a moment. It was near sundown when I had entered that lab.. The sun was up now. Had i been unconscious that long? How long had I stayed at that lab..."W-what happened...."
My dad smiled at me. This time, I looked closely at his expression. I had always been good at reading people. Yet my dads concerned look seemed so real. Or maybe I was too distracted to be able to tell the difference.
"You were hallucinating Lexie.. You passed out in front of the library. You've been out for fourteen hours now."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. So it was all a hallucination? But it all seemed so real...
"B-but what about the lab.. Your study..."
My dad looked at me with a confused look. He seemed shocked.
"What are you talking about Lexie? I don't have a study. I do my work at the library with you.."
Now it was my turn to stare at him. I was so confused. I knew it for a fact that he had a study. A huge one at that.
"Dad.. you have a huge study.. Right next to the library? The one you never allowed me in?"
My dad gave me an understanding smile. I could already tell that he wasn't taking me seriously. And his words just proved that.
"You must've hit your head hard Lexie.. Just rest for now. We will go home soon. Don't tire yourself even more"With that, he left the room.
