/Shi Yong's POV/--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I followed Feng Yu downstairs into a whole new area. The first floor is amazingly large but quite spacious. Although this man is quite wealthy, he must be a very intelligent man to be able to work with the king and gain a massive amount of money. To be honest, it's quite impressive. I'm not even rich and I feel so broke just by looking at this guy's house.
The first floor had six wooden-carved chairs with three wooden-carved tables. There were three tea sets on the tables, laying there as if it hasn't been touched in years. He had many wooden-shelves with beautifully designed jade vases and wooden-carved sculptures. Old paintings surrounded the walls. Such a large house but so quiet. I wonder if this man ever gets lonely when there's no one around... It's such a surprise that he doesn't have a single wife yet.
We stepped into the courtyard with a medium-sized pond filled with koi fish, swimming about under a wooden-bridge. Lilies and orchids filled the courtyard. What's even crazier is that there are two more "houses" built in his manor. One was the workshop which was on the left, and the other was the kitchen which was on the right. We walked across the bridge and headed towards the workshop.
Feng Yu opened the doors, "So this my workplace. You will be selling medication that the patients need. I will teach you which herbs or plants that are used for certain illnesses."
I nodded and entered the workshop.
"Don't you have any servants around? What if someone steals something from your house," I asked.
"Not exactly. I do have one friend that does live with me. He's a very deep sleeper. Speaking of him, I should wake him up soon," he exclaimed.
I'm not going to lie, but I felt a pang of jealousy there. I've never known Feng Yu, why would I be jealous of him? The more I thought about it, my heart tightens.
He continued, "So, you see those shelves? Those shelves contain the medication for the patients. Sometimes, I will need to gather more herbs or other plants to make certain medicine. So from now on, I will count on you to take on these tasks for me. Do you understand?"
I nodded my head without any complaints. I have a feeling he's going to force me to go to the woods and kill me there. He seems like the type of person who would be like those kinds of killers who act nice and then kill you right afterward. I'm literally digging my own grave by staying at a hot guy's house who is very sweet and generous but also has his own terrifying side at the same time. I hope I don't die right now, I just started this mission too.
I feel like Feng Yu has some terrible backstory like those main male leads in Chinese dramas. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Everyone can get a little depressing sometimes but this guy must have some major issues. That part of him makes me feel very uncomfortable, especially back in the bathroom.
Feng Yu pulls a wooden drawer from the shelves, "These are called Bupleurum, they are used for fevers, bronchitis, and phenomena."
He moved on to the drawer, "This is red sage, it's used for digestion issues."
He moved on to the next drawer and then the next drawer on the shelves. These herbs and plants that they used in the past were still used for medicine today. To be honest, most of these herbs, I knew what they were used for since I did some research back in college when I had the time to spare. It's better if I play dumb. I really don't want to raise suspicion and get myself kicked out.
