Tears rolled down her cheeks, and he moved to pull her in for a hug. They both held each other for a while, until she said between sobs, "I'm going to go say goodbye."
"Alright. I'll wait here." Owen replied.
And with that, she opened her bedroom door and stepped out, walking to her parents' room.
"Mom? Dad?" she quietly called, as she walked inside the room.
"Isabella?" her mom called, "What are you doing out here in the middle of the night?"
"Oh...I just wanted to say that I love you, mom. I love you so much." She said, walking toward her mom and sitting down next to her on the bed. She hugged her mom, and that's when her dad woke up.
"Gabby? What's up? What are you doing awake at this time?"
"I love you dad. And I always will."
She moved to her dad, who sat up and wrapped his arms around her, as he said, "I love you too, Gabby." She held him tight, for it would be the last embrace from him that she would feel.
"Bye Mom. Bye Dad. I'm going to go to sleep now."
"Goodnight honey! We love you." her mom called, as she turned to walk toward the door, hearing it close for the last time. She cried her way back to her room.
That was it. She would never see her parents again.
