max pushed her way into the school building, skateboard in hand next to her current boyfriend lucas, who was charming and handsome but after two years she had soon grown tired of him seeing as he as well began to become more distant around her. "lucas, we need to talk" she said stopping when they got to her locker. he was rocking back and forth on his heels looking around impatiently. "can it wait? i'm supposed to meet mike and el behind the school in a few minutes" he said sighing and looking past her. "i'll come with" she said at the mention of a certain name. "well then, come on madmax" he flirted, wiggling his eyebrows. "okay stalker" she said following him down the hall and out the back doors.

as soon as they got outside she spotted eleven curled up on his mike's lap with her head on his shoulder as he sat against the building. her heart fluttered at the sight of the cute raven haired boy. he looked at her with his big brown eyes and smiled. he put his finger to his lips signaling for them to be quiet. she had completely forgot about his girlfriend sleeping soundly in his lap. max didn't want her in his lap so she coughed loudly alarming the small girl who jolted from her sleep with a frightened expression on her face. mike scowled at her and began running his fingers through el's hair. "nice going max" he snapped, but not too harshly not wanting to startle eleven. "i'm going to go look for dustin and will, stay here" lucas said, heading back into the building. max sat far away from the couple who were a little to close for comfort, but close enough to hear their conversation. "mike, can we kiss like they do on the television?" el asked innocently. "how do they kiss on television?" he asked. max thought it was adorable when he asked questions considering how much of an alien he is when it comes to romance. she looked over just in time to see her place her hands on his cheeks, bringing his face closer to hers. she placed her lips on his lips softly, kissing him slowly. to her surprise and mikes she began speeding up. max looked away, she couldn't stand watching her crush make out with that psychotic bitch. she heard laughing and bickering coming from inside the school and chuckled realizing it was dustin arguing with lucas over what holiday was better, christmas or halloween. mike and el were still kissing which disgusted her considering they were only sophomores. while she was busy fuming over el and mike dustin had caught sight of the red head shooting daggers at the little brunette sitting in mikes lap. "woah, i think max likes mike" dustin said a tad bit too loud. el pulled away from mike and slid out of his lap. she stomped over to max and slightly jerked her head to the side sending mad tumbling down the small hill. "jesus!" dustin exclaimed running over to fuss over the girl he still hadn't gotten over. mike walked over to el and put his arm around her shoulder. max looked up at the pair and el smirked. "mike... is mine" she said pointing at herself. "i d-don't even like him" max stuttered obviously lying. "is that why you were making goo-goo eyes at him, and staring at them while they were kissing with an angry/jealous look on your face?" dustin asked. "you mean when we were kissing like this?" she turned and kissed mikes soft lips. mike smiled into the kiss intertwining their fingers. tears formed in max's eyes and she wanted to run and hide but it'd be too obvious. there was one thing maxine mayfield was certain of. it's that she hated eleven jane hopper.
