Chuck Taylor Imagine

Tonight I was making my debut on AEW, I had recently been paired with Chuck Taylor and the Best Friends. Tonight, I would be valeting him to the ring tonight in his match against Matt Jackson, to say I was nervous was an understatement. 

A million thoughts were running through my head as I walked to the makeup chair. As I sat down, Chuck walked past me

"there's my girl," he says with a smile

"I am so nervous," 

"No need to be y/n, I'm going to protect you, you have nothing to worry about," he says, he still had a smile on his face. I knew he was right, and if something did go wrong I  knew how to take a bump, I had trained as a wrestler for a few years before coming to AEW.

"You're right Chuck, I know you'll protect me. I'm just not used to being in front of 15,000 people"

"I remember that feeling, just remember you have nothing to worry about, I'm going to be there with you the whole time," he says

"Alright, Y/N you're all good to go," the makeup artist says. I get up out of the chair, Chuck takes my hand and we walk to gorilla position, where Matt and Nick are already standing

"aww look how cute" Nick teases

I rolled my eyes at him

"Chill, Y/N it was a joke. I heard you guys talking in the make up area. I promise you have nothing to worry about" Nick says

He and Matt were some of my best friends. We grew up in California together so I had known them for almost 20 years. When I head Chuck's Music begin, my heart dropped into my stomach

"We got this," Chuck reminds me. He wraps his arm around my waist as we walk out of the tunnel and on to the stage.

Part of our character was acting like a 'couple' so as he normally did, Chuck placed a gentle kiss on my lips as the crowd cheered.

 I loved watching Chuck get into the ring and his signature poses, and movements he did. He was entertaining to watch even from the sidelines I would get super into what he was doing, and sometimes almost forget I had a role to play.

"Come on Chuck" I screamed as I pounded on the ring apron, getting the crowd behind him

I climbed up onto the ring apron, distracting the referee as Chuck tried to hit Matt with a chair, but Matt dropkicked him, and Chuck went down. 

Nick climbed into the ring, and they tried to go for a double superkick on Chuck, but when Chuck ducked out of the way at the last second, I got superkicked off the apron

A 'Holy Shit' chant had begun to ring throughout the arena as I crashed to the floor. I heard the bell ring and Chuck's music play

"here is your winner Chuck Taylor" Justin Roberts announces as Joey climbs out of the ring, he kneels beside me

"are you okay?" he asks sounding worried

"Yeah, I'm fine,"

Chuck helps me up and we slowly walk to the back. Everyone applauded as we walked to the back

"you alright?" Nick asks as they walk back through the curtain

"Yeah, I'll be fine,"

"good, I'm sorry, that was totally inadvertent," he says both of them hugging me

"I know, You wouldn't superkick me on purpose, you guys love me too much," I say, making them laugh

"I'm sorry, I should have protected you as I promised," Chuck says

"what are you talking about? you did a great job, I know I took a pretty brutal superkick, but I'm perfectly fine,"

"I know you're fine, but you still scared me when you hit the floor," he says

"I'm a trained wrestler remember? I know how to take a bump"

"I know, I just always get worried when you take bumps like that," he says

"if you hadn't ducked, you would have eaten the superkick and not me" I teased

"I know, don't make me feel worse," he says

"Chuck, I promise it's fine, I don't mind taking a couple of bumps. Tonight was a lot of fun. I can't wait until next week and we get to do it again"

"I can't wait either," he says giving me a tight hug
