"What a burden"
And here he goes again ranting, being the his usual insensitive self.
"To which you are the cause, if I remember correctly", I replied bluntly to his unscrupulous comment.
"Do you want me to repeat the same shit again!",
"I'd rather not hear lies anymore", I was done...
"Whatever, I'm out of here"
He quickly disappeared after throwing his fit as I could only watch the picture of his car fading away from my view...
Indeed it was troublesome, I was left with a bloodied body right in front of my house and the only possible suspect of this scene left, saying that it appeared out of nowhere as if I was to be blamed.
I was dying to call the police, but I knew this wouldn't be possible unless I get myself caught too.
Hesitantly, I lifted her up and laid her into my car. Mr mattson being my buttler, driver and a little bit of everything drove us to a nearby clinic as he warned me about the possible issues this little action could cause, well I'd rather be taken away than letting someone die in front of me again.
I'll have to say... it was no easy task to get her in and out of the car but at the same time I couldn't find the courage to let the old man lift my step brother's mess.
It was nearly 09 00 when we entered the clinic and thankfully there was no one around. I was followed by Mattson all the time we were there and it was evident that he was worried about the unconscious girl, as for me... I couldn't care less, I was simply doing what I had to do as a fellow human being but I definitely didn't expect what followed right after...
Charles, the owner of the clinic was an old friend of mine which helped me to skip all the formalities and inquiries. His curiosity was keeping him on the edge but he was the kind of man who wouldn't stick his nose into anything that could harm his reputation or career.
The young woman was scarred everywhere and as the results said, she got a minor head injury causing her to bleed and resulting into a lost of consciousness.
After Charles was determined that she needed a blood transfusion, he tested her blood to make sure that the blood she was given matched her blood type. A small needle was used to insert an IV line in one of her blood vessels. The process took 3 hours to complete and she was monitored by Charles himself all the through out the procedure and after.
Charles kept the clinic closed since he knew I couldn't let myself be seen.
"Hey, I know I shouldn't be asking but who is she?", he hesitantly asked trying to raise his tone to sound more confident in vain.
"I'm not sure you'll believe me if I say the truth but I actually found her in front of my porch and apparently she just happened to be there, half dead?"
"Nevermind, forget it I never asked", he glared at me blankly and laughed out loud few seconds later.
"I'm actually being serious here"
"Well it's not working, I'm sorry. How could this happen when your neighbourhood is completely deserted, there's no one around there, I doubt the civilians around even know your place exist", he kept giggling as he talked on.
He wasn't wrong though, I was basically living underground the civilisation, and if there was anyone living around they would have been miles away since I've been using this place as an escape since years and no one could know this spot better than I do...
