JACKSON'S LOVE FOR LEARNING is what got him to Virginia, and drag his little sister along with him. At twenty four years old, he was nearly done with training at the academy and had just completed a bachelors in human behavior. His life was slowly becoming together, while his sister, April, was just now starting her life.

Though, now nearly done with the academy and possibly being placed on a team to further his training, Jackson was beginning to overthink everything. He tended to overthink, a lot, especially with big decisions like these, where he's half-way across the country without his family. The anxiety of it all ate away at his mind, consuming his every thought and shown itself through physical motions, like pacing around the small apartment he lived in.

April watched her brother pace the apartment as she filled out paper applications for schools in the area. She tried too, but she couldn't focus with Jackson. She huffed and threw her pen down at the table, the noise frightening Jackson from his thoughts as he jumped.

"What the hell, April!" Jackson exclaimed, eyes wide and arms in the air.

April mocked him, "What the hell, Jackson!" She rolled her eyes, "Go for a run or something before you put a hole in our floor. We can't afford any renovations to this crappy place."

"I know," he grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest. "In a month when I start, we won't make more. Not on a government salary, besides, most of it will go towards your tuition."

She scoffed, and leaned back in her chair. April gave her brother the look, like most siblings do.

"Full of crap, Jackson." April laughed, "What's on your mind?"

Jackson sighed and scampered over to the small dining table where his sister sat. He pulled out the other chair, and cringed as it scraped across the floor, and sat down. He pursed his lips and looked down at his hands, a nervous habit of his.

"Do you think we made the wrong decision?" He asked, looking up to read his sister's expression, then looked back down again. He rested his hands on the table, and nervously twisted his fingers. "I mean, moving all the way out here and starting this new life. Do you think it's right for us?"

His sister smiled softly, as she understood his current anxieties, because she occasionally had the same thought. She breathed out heavily, and caught her brother's attention, and he glanced back to April. She moved her hands towards his, placing them atop his cold hands.

"We're gonna be fine, Jacks." April reassured him. "You've got three more weeks and you'll be catching criminals. You've worked for this, and everyone back home is so proud of you. I'm so proud of you. We're gonna make it."

Jackson mirrored his sister's smile as he anxieties melted away, for now. He mentally thanked whatever was out there for his little sister, one of the only humans who truly understood him. Jackson chuckled softly and shook his head.

"Ya know, I love you sometimes, kid."

April scoffed and moved her hands, quickly flipping him off. But her smile said otherwise, "I love you too, loser. We'll be okay."
