Boruto : Road to Ninja

Prolouge

1st Person POV

"What is a ninja ?"

At one point, every shinobi has asked that question.
My father is known to be the strongest shinobi alive, respected and adored by everyone everywhere. He's the Hokage, y'know, and he told me,

"A ninja is one who endures."

I never took it to heart, though. My old man, on the other side that no one knows, is busy as heck, too busy to even look out for his own family. "The whole village is my family." He said. A sorry excuse for a crappy father. At least, that was what I used to think. But I'm 13 and I know better now, although I'd hate to admit it out loud. But that doesn't change the fact that I dislike the idea of the Kage things if it means sacrificing your family.

I wonder how much would change if dad was never the Hokage at all.

3rd Person POV

          Urashiki Osutsuki was making a risky move just attacking Hidden Leaf's strongest shinobi. He had succeeded in tricking those pesky chunins and genins outside the village, due to which security in the village was now low. They thought they had cornered him and Urashiki snickered at their idiocy.

          Now, the amused Osutsuki stood in front of the Hokage's table, a bewildered Uzumaki with his advisor. Their confusion soon turned into rage and both the shinobi took their stance.

"How the heck are you here ?!" Naruto bellowed. "What have you done to the others !?"

"It would be fun to play around with those kids but I have other priorities; like extracting the Kyuubi out of you." said Urashiki as he reached behind for his weapon. But he froze mid-action.

"I don't think that would happen." Shikamaru grinned. His shadow stretched out and had caught the Osutsuki. Urashiki grinned wider as his eyes bulged, his Rinne Sharingan now glowing fiercely. Skikamaru's Shadow Paralysis was sucked into his eyes in no more that a second.

"What. I didn't know he could-"

"Alright." Urashiki began to levitate off of the ground. "Shall we start ?"

"Stop !" came an order to which the three turned to the office door to see it slammed open, revealing Boruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha.

"I was right." Boruto scowled.

"Boruto ! What are you doing here ?!" His father yelled, worry scribbled all over his face.

"Protecting you ! What does it look like ?!"

"Sasukeee ! You were supposed to-"

"Not now, Naruto." The Uchiha chided him.

"My, my. Now I feel like I'm being outnumbered." Urashiki's smile was still plastered as he said so. "Oh, y'know what ? The Kyuubi can wait. First, how about I deal with-"

Urashiki vanished and before no one could react, reappeared right behind Boruto, gripping on his shoulder. "-you."

Sasuke quickly brandished his sword and swiped, but just to cut the air. Boruto and Urashiki were already gone.

"Boruto !!"

          "Hey ! Where are you taking me ?!" Boruto yelled as he struggled to get out of the Osutsuki's grasp on the nape of his neck while they travel across the dimensions. Urashiki replied, "Somewhere you'd love."

"The heck I will !" Boruto held out a palm and form the spiralling chakra.

"Rasengan !!"

Urashiki gasped in pain as the Jutsu hit him on his shoulder and lost his grip. Boruto fell into the deep ends until a portal opened in front of him. He instinctively closed his eyes and kept falling even after entering the portal. Then,

"Boruto !" The Uzumaki snapped his eyes open at the call but moreover because of the familiar voice of Sarada who yelled his name.
He was speeding towards the ground and the others were at least a good fifty metres away from him and even though the young Uchiha was already running towards the falling boy to catch him, she'd not arrive in time.

Then another firm grip hold him before he could hit the ground and the two landed softly. When he was put down, he gasped in relief, "Mitsuki !" Mitsuki gave him a smile. Boruto realized they were at a clearing in the forest outside Konoha.

Sarada arrived at her teammates' side just when another portal opened above them. Urashiki flew out from it. "Now you've done it, brat !"
His rage, however, was replaced by a sickly excited chuckle right away as he held out a transparent sphere. "This is not what I planned for you, but it's fine." and threw it up the air.

"What the-"

The sphere halted mid-air and the three genins could see it refract the moon as, Sarada recognizes, the blood coloured Rinne Sharingan.

A blinding light engulfed the area and the last thing the three of them saw before they had to close their eyes, was Urashiki's triumph grin spreading across his pale face.

The light soon vanished and left the Team 7 minus Konohamaru standing there like idiots.

"Hey ! Where did he go ?!" It was Boruto who practically yelled which echoed throughout the whole sleeping forest.

"Wait, Boruto." Sarada stopped him when he tried to stomp off to find Urashiki. "Where _is_ everyone ? Shikadai and the others were right behind me."

"That creepy bastard ! Did he do something to them ?!"

"Boruto, be quiet !!"

"But-"

"Shuuush !"

Mitsuki took Boruto's reluctant silence to speak, "No one's here. It's just us. This... isn't right."

"Well, we're still at the same place, right ? Let's get back and tell Dad and Sasuke-san !" Boruto suggested.

Before replying, Sarada activated her Sharingan and scanned the whole area.
"I don't detect any genjutsu."

Making a hand sign, Boruto clarified Sarada's conclusion with "Kai !" but nothing happened.

Mitsuki nodded, "We have no choice. Let's go back." The two others nodded and they started to the village.

Team 7 hopped from tree to tree and the village gate was now in sight, that was, until Mitsuki suddenly perched on a branch and Boruto, who was at his heels, collided with him and both almost fell if not for Sarada snatching their shirt collar before they do.

"What's the big idea, Mitsuki ?" Boruto cried.

"Just-..." Speechless, the pale boy raised a finger and pointed at something slightly above them. When Boruto and Sarada traced his line of sight, they froze.

Boruto stammered, "Wh-Where's my dad's-"

Sarada shook her head in disbelief. "Not only that... Why is Mama's face there on the Hokage Monument !?"

And that's that ! I've been wanting to write this fanfic for quiet a while coz I thought it would be so interesting to let Team 7 see the other world where Sakura and Naruto were once sent to.
