I looked at Payton and Chase one more time. Payton was asleep on my bed and Chase on his own.

I wanted to wake him up and talk to him and fall asleep like none of this had happened.

I thought more and I told myself I wasn't going to Jadens room. Payton is my first priority.

I sat on the edge of my bed and threw my hair up into a messy bun.

I thought maybe I could sneak in next to him. I pulled up the sheets slowly and Payton turned around.

"Hey sleepy head." I said as I looked down and lightly smiled.

"I didn't wanna wake you but-

Before I could finish I felt Payton pull me into a long tight hug.

He pulled away and I just stood there looking into his eyes.

And then he leaned in and kissed me.

I didn't pull away. I didn't feel guilty. It felt, right.

It was like an "I miss you kiss" or like a goodbye kiss and he'll never see me again.

Butterflies flew all around me and my heart felt like it stopped.

I put my hands in his hair while his hands were on my lower back.

I felt safe.

He finally pulled back and we just stood there smiling.

I didn't know what to say. I just kept my arms around his neck.

"I'm definitely not gonna admit that Chase taught me that." He said smirking with a giggle.

"It looks like we skipped the talking part huh?" I said as I heard a thud on the floor that startled both me and Payton.

We turned around to see Chase on the floor.

"Good morning?" He said as he rubbed his head.
