Melody's POV
"I can't believe this happening," Colin squealed while he helped me into my dress. I loved the strapless dress with a pure glitter bodice with a sweetheart neckline. The bottom was an A-line skirt and all ruffles angled to the left with some glitter, and it touched the ground. My veil had an outline of glitter and was attached to a woven silver band that had versions of my pure white wolf ears on top.
"Me either. You know I always thought I didn't have a Mate," I answered.
"And look at you now. In a gorgeous wedding dress. Come on, let's finish getting you ready," Colin said, taking back control. I sat at the vanity as my bestie worked, keeping it simple, just as I had asked. He strengthened my hair and gave me a left, side-swept bang followed by my make up which was a mainly silver palette, the exception being my light red lipstick.
"Perfection," Colin grinned when he was done with me.
"Thank you. I don't know how I would have done this and kept my cool at the same time," I admitted.
"Oh, sweetheart, I know. I'm just happy you let me help," Colin smiled, putting his hand on my shoulder. "So, are you nervous?" He asked, leaning against the vanity.
"Have you seen my Mate? I am absolutely terrified," I said, taking a deep breath.
"Yeah, he is perfection. And there's your awkward ass. I can see why the nerves are eating away at you."
"You are not being helpful."
"I'm not done. Melody, have you seen the way that boy looks at you? He is so in love with you it's gross. You have nothing to worry about. You'll grow old together and he'll still think you're hot shit."
"Thank you, Colin," I smiled.
"So now I guess we wait until someone comes and gets us?" Colin asked after a minute of silence.
"I guess so. I dunno, I never thought this would happen," I shrugged.
"Mel? I'm coming in," Dad said through the door, as if on cue. He did as he said, and just walked in.
"Is it time?" I asked.
"Yeah. Melody, you look amazing," He said out of breath.
"Thank you. I had an excellent stylist. I'm almost done, I just have my shoes left," I said as Colin placed my white hidden wedges on my feet.
"You ready?" Gabe asked.
"No, she's not. She needs her bouquet," Colin answered as he placed it in my hands.
"Anything else?" I asked my annoying best friend.
"Nope, you're good," He told me.
"Then I guess I'm ready," I told him. He offered me his arm and I accepted. Colin followed me as my brother led us to the giant doors. The doors were opened just as the music started to play. Well, there's no going back now.
Steve's POV
My ears perked up when the music began. The doors opened and out stepped Melody. She looked gorgeous in her dress. She walked slowly down the aisle alone, setting her own pace and I couldn't wait for her to reach me. All I wanted was to claim her.
Once she made it, she smiled at me before sitting in the chair. And then her father started speaking, breaking the bubble.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Melody Luna Lupine and Steven Grant Rogers. These vows are will bind your souls together. Please walk up to your bride and kneel before her." I did as asked, walking to Melody and kneeling in front of her. I began taking off her shoes and grabbed a washcloth from a bucket filled with soapy water. I gently grabbed a foot and began washing it as Sam spoke again.
"It is Werewolf culture that the male takes care of the female. The washing of the feet demonstrates his ability and desire to do so. You may begin your vows."
"I, Steven Rogers, take you, Melody Lupine, to be my wife; my partner in all things. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I vow to always value your opinion, thoughts, and feelings and I will love you and honor you all the days of my life. I take you to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part, should you accept me," I said, trying not to let my voice shake. I couldn't believe this was finally happening.
"I, Melody Lupine, accept you, Steven Rogers, to be my husband; my partner in all things. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I vow to always value your opinion, thoughts, and feelings and I will love you and honor you all the days of my life. I take you to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part," She vowed and I felt a weight off my shoulders; the most nerve-wracking part was over.
"If you would please stand and face each other," Sam said and I slid on Melody's shoes on before the two of us stood.
"Do you, Steven Rogers, take this woman as your wife?"
"I do," I said, smiling softly at my bride.
"Do you, Melody, take this man as your husband?"
"I do."
"May I have the rings?" Sam asked and Colin brought up the rings.
"With this ring, I wed thee," Melody said, slipping the thick silver band on my finger.
I slid my mother's wedding band on her finger vowing, "With this ring, I wed thee."
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." I smiled as I took her chin in my hand and pulled her in for a soft and loving kiss. It was done. Our bonds were just one step away from being unbreakable. But I'd take care of that tonight, once I had her alone.
