Rians pov
It had been a long day, between multiple meetings and a prolonged jamming session all Rian really wanted was to have something to eat maybe, shower and then cuddle up to Alex, maybe not in that exact order, but noooooo, Alex was as hyper as he always was after a jamming session with the boys, and he was nattering away, not really using his brain as he rambled about the days going-ons despite Rian being beside him during the entirety of it, but Rian stopped and sat down next to Alex and listened contently, though mildly hungry, but it was worth it to see how lit up Alex's face was and how animated he got when describing something, and just, wow.
The only downside to Alex's rambles was that they had been home for half an hour now and Rian still hadn't eaten yet and to say he was hungry would be an understatement, but no, he would sit there and listen until Alex was done,and as soon as he was Rian was getting up and dragging him to the kitchen, because although Alex was a much better cook than him, he was determined to make them a meal for once, even if that meal would turn out to just be some toast or some noodles, it would be something, and hey, it's the thought that counts as Alex would always say to him when things didn't go well.
They were now sat quietly eating some noodles because that was about the stretch of Rian's cooking skills apparently, they were cuddled up, mindlessly watching some nature documentary Alex had slapped on. Rian placed him bowl down on the coffee tables after he was done and pulled Alex a little closer, running his fingers through his hair soothingly, just wanting to be close since they hadn't had any chance to do so during the day, he smiled when he got an adorable little yawn out of Alex, kissing his forehead tenderly as he put his bowl down to, turning so he had his side facing Rian and leaned on his chest, pulling up the blanket he had grabbed earlier to keep them warm as Rian continued to work his magic, giving Alex a head massage.
The pair dozed off eventually, the quiet hum of the TV bringing life and noise to what would otherwise be a quiet room, one thing was undeniable though, the aura of love and safety that the pair radiated as their limbs tangled together and held each other as though letting go even a tiny bit would result in the other disappearing, it was a wholesome love that stemmed from years of adoration and closeness between the pair, and while yes, they couple were only a few months into a committed relationship, they're known each other for over a decade, they knew how the other worked, often times better than they knew themselves, and all in all, long tiring days were worth it if it meant they could cuddle up like this and hold each other close to keep warm through the cold winter nights like these.
