This. Chapter. Gets. Spicy. 🌶 🥵
It's late when they arrive back at the Townhouse. The boys are tucked safely in Mike's guest room, all packed to take the train the next morning. That's the adult's plan, anyway.
The day has been long for Carn and Bill, but, if anything, they feel more awake than ever. So much happened that they know if they try to sleep, their minds would be flooded with thoughts of blood and fear and worry. Plus, they know that if they fall asleep, the night would fly by quickly, and they'd wake to a day of fighting.
"I think I'm going to take a shower," Carn sighs, throwing her purse on the nightstand.
"Okay," Bill says, sinking into the bed.
She goes into the bathroom, a little paranoid that someone- or something- is hiding behind the shower curtain, but she's safe. Hopping in, she lets the hot water cascade down her back and tries not to cry. It's possible that she'll never see her kids again after this...
But then Carn remembers what Bill told her. They're fighters. If It thinks that there's any chance in hell that It'll take away these two from their children, It's blatantly mistaken.
Then there's Chüd. She doesn't understand it in the slightest. Her husband and friends defeated It by biting down It's tongue and telling It jokes? Nothing about it makes sense.
A migraine begins to form as she ponders it for too long, so she turns off the now cold water and steps out. She wraps herself in a towel and blowdries her hair, something she rarely does. When Bill hears that loud sound of the hairdryer, he instantly knows how stressed she is and knocks on the bathroom door.
"Come in."
So he enters the bathroom and Carn turns off the hairdryer to talk to him.
"What's up?"
"Just w-w-wanted to make sure you're o-o-okay in here."
"I'm fine!" she fakes a smile but her turquoise eyes don't follow it.
He takes her hand. "Tuh-talk t-t-t-to m-me, babe."
She can't hide anything from him.
"I just don't understand how we're going to beat this thing. With Chüd, I know, but how are we going to get to It? What if it fails and we lose? What if It isn't there? None of this feels real, Bill. It feels like a fever dream."
Carn lays her head on Bill's chest as he pulls her into a hug.
"It's a-a-all going to w-work out, okay? E-even if we duh-die, we'll still be sav-saving muh-muh-millions of children fr-from now on."
"Maybe not millions," Carn giggles.
"Oh, shut up."
She stops talking and replaces it with kissing. Beaming, Bill returns the favor, and she melts in his arms. He carries her out to the bed, where they make out some more.
"Bill," Carn whispers, gasping for air.
"Hm?"
Even though they've been doing it since they were teens, her voice is shy. "Touch me."
He grants her wish almost instantly and helps her unwrap the towel. When it falls to the ground, he devours her entire body in kisses and caresses. He hasn't done art in years, but he paints her in hickeys. she
"I love you," she sighs contentedly. "Come here."
He climbs back up so they're face to face and pecks her nose.
"I l-love you so m-m-much."
She beams sweetly and reaches to unbutton his flannel, but her hands are shaking in anticipation.
"W-woah, Carn, we huh-have all night."
Pressing his lips to her trembling hands, he takes off his clothes himself.
"L-l-let me g-get a con-condom."
"Not a wallet one, I hope," she teases, resting her chin in her hands innocently.
"Ha ha," he replies, pulling one out of his suitcase pocket.
Before he puts it on, though, a quick flash of worry is on Carn's face.
"Wh-what's wrong?"
"I don't know. I just- don't want this to end."
"Th-this isn't our-our last t-time, Carn. Y-you know it isn't."
She nods. "I know."
He pulls on the condom and hops on the bed.
"Are y-you ready?"
"Of course," she shimmies underneath him and he goes inside of her. She reaches up and cups his face.
The rhythm of their bodies is sweet and tender, and every couple seconds they blissfully hum each other's names or I love yous.
Bill finishes first, but goes back in for her. When she gets there, it's precious. She's flying among the stars and all she sees is the sky's deep, royal purple. A soft, beautiful symphony of sounds escapes from her. Bill benignly peppers her face with kisses to make it even better for her.
But in only a few seconds, it's over. A breath that she didn't know she was holding in is let out.
"D-d-do you w-want me to p-p-pull out?" Bill whispers in her flaxen locks, which smell of strawberries.
"Do you want to stay here until you finish again? I want to savor it."
"O-okay," he strokes her hair, thrusting a bit more.
When it's over, Bill feels so bad that he had an extra orgasm, so he fingers her until she gets there again.
"You're so sweet," Carn says, laying her head on his chest. She eventually dozes off in that position, and he falls asleep whispering sweet nothings in her ear.
