Gore and Cross abuse. Ayyyyy. Might end up making a separate book for fluff because this is just angst. Fuck.

(Cross)

„Get out of here you pathetic excuse of a Dreamgazer!"
The dark king's voice echoed through the corridor, and I was harshly struck by a tentacle against my chest, knocking the air out of me and sending me flying. I barely even felt the pain anymore. My entire body was numb from all the bruises, cuts and cracks I had from just Nightmare. Not even counting in the other bad guys adding to that pain. I weakly scrambled to my feet and attempted leaving, just to feel a tentacle wrapping around my leg again, picking me off the ground and throwing me against the exit door. I could hear another cracking sound, but didn't feel any pain. Not anymore. I slid down on the floor, before trying to get up and open the door. All I need to do is get out of here... I finally reached the handle, pulling it down and almost faceplanting into the ground outside because the door barely needed force to be opened. Just my weight leaned against it was enough. I got up yet again, almost expecting to be thrown around more like some kind of rag doll, but nothing happened. Nothing except me losing my stand and falling forward. I thought I'd fall on the floor, but instead I got caught in someone's embrace. Someone warm with a calming, positive aura.
„What happened to you, Cross? Did Nightmare do all this to you? Let's go back home and get you patched up..."
I muttered something incomprehensible, before finally giving in and passing out.

(Dream)

I held Cross in my arms, taking a closer look at him. His clothes were stained purple from his blood, and I was already doubting he'd heal quickly. In any matter, he needed quick help, but first we had to get out of here. I can't let Nightmare or the other Nightwalkers see me. I looked back at my ally creature, the tall, blonde maned drake with wings of stardust. He approached me curiously, before gently picking Cross from my arms and placing him on it's back, and then turning around and leaving. Until there was some distance between us and it turned around to look at me. I snapped out of whatever I was thinking and followed my ally creature.

Soon enough, we got back home. My ally creature helped me making sure Cross was comfortable, and then left. I hadn't healed much aside from the bruises. I wouldn't want to heal him and actually harm him more than helping him. I had also taken off most his clothing to inspect the wounds closer. Some of them even seemed infected, and I knew it'd really hurt cleaning them up. He finally woke up, weakly groaning.
„Cross?"
I asked quietly.
„Dreamy? I'm... here...?"
„Yeah Cross... you're back home..."
I said, gently smiling.
„How bad do I look?"
He asked, almost jokingly, as if he knew he was all messed up.
I immediately got serious and held a thin plate of metal to his mouth.
„Bite down on this. It's gonna hurt and I don't want every other Dreamgazer to think I'm torturing you"
Cross smiled some and obediently bit down on the metal plate.
I then took the tools necessary to clean out the wounds, starting out with rubbing alcohol.
I pressed the cloth soaked in the disinfectant and just slightly pressed it against one of the cuts on his ribs, only to earn a hiss of pain from him. I didn't panic too much and completely cleaned up the wound, making sure I got every corner properly. Since his ribs looked pretty bad, I continued cleaning up the cracks and cuts on them. As soon as I finished, I let some healing magic course through his ribs, healing them up almost perfectly. A few cracks remained though, but I moved on anyway. They'd probably heal off soon, too. I moved on to his arm for now, earning another pained hiss and Cross biting down on the metal plate so harshly I feared there's gonna be a dent in it by the end of this. I repeated the procedure of cleaning cuts and cracks and healing them. By the end of this, I was completely exhausted from the effort this magic took and Cross still looked pained, letting out a shaky breath as I ordered him to let go of the plate.
I sighed and laid down next to him, slightly nuzzling into him.
„You seem exhausted Dreamy. Is healing magic really this bad?"
Cross asked curiously, wrapping his arms around me.
„It's just... I barely use it... so it gets pretty... exhausting..."
I muttered tiredly. I wouldn't admit I had my ally creature summoned long enough for my energy to be lacking now, and Cross wouldn't have to know either.
I slowly drifted to sleep, nuzzling into the crook of Cross' neck. Everything would be okay now...

// But then Nootmurr is being a dick and wants Cross back because he's jealous lmao-
Anyway this is kinda fluffy? Idk man. But it's something, k.
