I'm Simon Wainwright.
I'm a student at Sandlamet Academy. It's a massive university with the weirdest people. There's James, in my class, he's a little quiet, apparently he was put on trial once. There's Archie, who is probably the most emotionally cold person I have ever met. There's also David, who is probably a genius, Bonnie, she's nice, Joan, they're really nice to me, first friend I made, Layla, she's badass, and Rosa, who no one knows anything about.
But then there's Leo Grayson.
He makes my life so much harder.
I don't resent him, I don't hate him, he just makes my life so much harder. I don't know why. He has hair the colour of a summer day on the beach, and eyes like the sea. He has a smile like a spring flower blooming, slow and bright. It could turn a war-mongering dictator into a pacifist protester.
His orange hair flows through his azure eyes, like he's giving the universe a new star. He is ethereal. His emotions show through the dark. They glow, like a galaxy in the midnight sky. His eyes betray all hate, and prove that miracles really do happen.
I don't know why I feel this way. Whenever he smiles, it's like the world is okay for one moment. It's like nothing else truly matters. His laugh is calm, but still gleeful. His glow of life could warm in the coldest blizzard. The world is truly alright when he's there.
It's alright.
Everything is truly alright.
But only when he's there.
