When Dev and I got home, we took quick showers and got changed into shorts and tank tops. I brought down my iPod and plugged into the system down stairs. I looked over at Dev, “You wanna order pizza or make it ourselves?” I asked.

“Let’s make it ourselves. It always tastes better when we make it.” She said.

I turned up the music as Ke$ha’s song Die Young started to play. Dancing and singing, Dev and I got started making the pizzas. We had decided on four: two cheese, pepperoni, and meat lovers. We were having so much fun that we didn’t know that Ethan had walked in until he started to sing with us. We flipped around and screamed as Ethan laughed.

“You should have seen your faces! Priceless.” He said. “Sorry I’m late. I wanted to stop by my house and pick up some clothes and take a quick shower. But I also stopped by the store and picked up a load of candy and scary movies!”

“Yaya!” shouted me and Dev at the same time.

Putting the pizzas in the oven and looked over my shoulder and said, “These should be done in 20 minutes. Let’s get everything set up in the living room.” The nodded their heads and we all went to get blankets and pillows.

As we were setting it up, Ethan look over at me. “So have you heard from your parents?”

I visibly froze. “No.” I said quickly wanting the conversation to end as soon as it began. Ethan nodded his head in understanding and Dev gave me a small smile.

“I’ll go check the pizzas.” I said before they could say anything.

My parents were a sour topic for me. They never wanted a child but when my mom became pregnant with me they couldn’t get rid of me. No instead they just left me home alone and went on trips for months and months at a time and only came home for a day or two. Not that I cared if they were ever home because if they were home things got tense. When I was younger they would just yell and tell me how much of a disappointment I was. That I was ugly and I was lucky that they kept me around. Once I turned 14 things took a violent turn. My mother would find the need to slap me across the face quiet often. My father on the other hand wouldn’t hit but he did like to grab until bruises were let and yanking my hair was one of his specialties. The only good thing they did for me was put money in an account every month so that I had money available. I knew once they kicked me out they would take all the money away so I got another account under my own name and put half of what they gave, inside. I had a decent amount as of right now that I could survive nicely for little over a year. Dev and Ethan both knew about my relationship with my parents.

The oven beeped making me come back to reality. I took the pizzas out and called Ethan and Dev in. “THE PIZZAS ARE READY!” They came rushing in grabbing plates, napkins and soda from the fridge. I giggled and did the same. We went to the living room as Ethan started the movie.

An hour later, I was done with my pizza and was peeking behind my hands at the scary movie. Dev had a pillow over her face and Ethan looked like he was enjoying it. Don’t get me wrong it was a good movie but it was scaring me shitless. After it was all done we started watching the next one. After three more movies I looked at the time. It was a little past 2 in the morning.

“Alright guys time for bed. I’m tired.” They agreed and we got settled down ready for bed. Right before I fell asleep I got that this feeling something was going to happen tomorrow.
