Chapter 1- The Chemical War

I sit there with her looking into the puddle the acid rain had created. I see my past,present and future, what was, what is, and what will be. I sit there remembering the harsh images of the war. I feel anger and depression in my heart, but I feel no sadness, I do not dare to cry to shield her and keep her comforted. I can see it in her blue eyes too. She feels the sane as me, but will not show it to be strong, but I can tell anyway. All I feel now is rage and anger, these emotions full fill me like a shroud which I cannot tug off of me, its strapped onto me like a chain which seeps into my skin.

The flash backs of the war remind me of how lucky I was on my home planet, I may of committed crimes but I was lucky with what happened to me and the time I spent on earth before all this madness, but now it all feels like a daydream slowly drifting away. In the great war there was two sides, the striders and the resistance. I sorted sides with the resistance, I meet a human girl called lexi, we became good friends when she took me in, she found me starving in the mountain sides once the striders had been through and taken everything in the mountains, no food to hunt and no water. I couldn't move anywhere with out scouts chasing after me so I just hid in a cave. Then she found me and took me in, this is when I learnt of the war and the mutants. The enemy had been making the lions mutants, by taking parts of land mammals and taking there favourite gene and mutating the lions to have antlers or fangs from sabertooth tigers, I was the first and only mutant of the resistance. I already had wings and horns but they named me subject 47 even though I was the only one. They mutated me to have sharp claws and when I get angry my eyes turn red and shoot lasers,they also made it so I had super hearing and super sight and smell, I had better than your average wolf because of where I came from but these really heightened them and made them amazing.

The time came to when I had to fight the scourge of the land, the striders. We went to the plain of the fallen to fight for are friends. Me and my human companion lined up next to the leader of the organisation, his name was Warrick. He was a fierce leader with the heart of a dragon and the fire of a burning flame. We stood waiting for the enemy. I could feel the mutant cats running and making the earth tremble. I eventually saw the other side. I saw there leader, he looked at me with his human eyes. He sat there on his horse glaring at me like I was a riddle. They came to stand still at what was a quarter of a mile from here but I could see them as if they were right in front of me. I saw him look down to his guard and said "keep that one for experiment, he may be of use to us" his companion nodded and they both stared at me. I started to growl and raised my fur, I let out a snarl and felt my blood boiling. I started to spread my wings and I could feel my eyes turning red. I then felt lexi stroke my wing as she lowered it back down to my body. She knelt down and talked whispered in my ear, "take no notice of him. Just remember, go for the throat" I looked at her and she looked at me . I then glared back into the battle. The Warrick walked to the front of the line on his horse and galloped up and down of our line. He came back and then starts to yell " Today we fight for freedom! We fight for the ones we lost and for the ones we need to protect!! So my good brothers, sisters and wolves raise your sword and cheer for the freedom of out lost ones!!" Then the whole army started to cheers. Us wolves howled in despair as we knew we where about to embrace the fight.

Warrick then raises his sword and scream " CHARGE!!!!" we all quickly charge forward u went ahead in front of lexi to help shield her from the in coming arrows that shattered when they hit my wings. I then saw the daring eyes of the mutant beast in front of me. I started to fly up as I got further to the enemy lines , I then saw the best going for lexi and I dived down and grabbed the beast neck, blood poured everywhere around my teeth and jaws. I ripped a chunk of flesh from the lion as it roared to the pain I was causing it. The beast then fell to the ground and I could feel its hot blood inside my mouth, I then saw lexi and she was fighting a lion but she seemed alright, I then saw a lion running towards me, I also ran towards the beast and we hit each other. We then started to scrap and i felt blood running down my leg but I couldn't tell if it was mine or if it was the lions, I then saw there was more than meets the eye with this lion, his tail was like a spiked ball from a ancient dinosaur. He tried to hit me with it but I jumped out of the way. I then flew up over the beast and attack it tail. I then threw me across the field and I hit a rock. I could see it running for lexi, I then climbed to my paws and then ran and bit its back leg. It let out a shriek and then I saw lexi, she saw the lion and ran towards it while I had its hind leg in a lock. She came towards it and stab its head with her sword, the beast then fell to the ground and was no more. I then fixed my eyes on the leader, he then said to his guards " bring him to me" the human guards ran at me and I didn't think to much of them since they were humans. I ran towards them and then they threw a net at me. Dodged it and continued to run but the from behind me a different net landed on me. I couldn't get out of it, I got angry and anger full filled my body. I felt the heat run through my body and it started to burn the roped. The guards had reached me at this points and started to grab my horns and wings. I then saw lexi running at them, she slit one of the guards throat as it tried to move me. She went for the other guard and I eventually got the bindings off of me, but something happened I did not expect.

The leader sitting on his horse pulls out a bow and grabs a arrow from his holster at the back. He aims it at lexi. I start to run towards her as he fires it , I ran and ran but I was to late, the arrow pierced through her skin to her heart. I could feel it as if it hit mine. I let out a huge howl as I was so upset. I the growl and let out a roar and the ran at the leader with my claws and fangs sharpened, I growl and jumped at him and took him off his horse. I then pin him against the floor and let out a huge growl, he laughs at me and then said " ha, your too late puppy" he then pointed to a device in his hand which was counting down. He then said " this chemical will wipe out your petty humans and certain wolves who have a human gene" he laughs and then looks at me. I then grabbed his head and yanked it off his body with my teeth. I growled and then picked up the device and ran over too Warrick and put the device down by his feet. He picked it up and looked at it. He was trying to stop the chemical the leader was on about, but he couldn't do it. Alll of a sudden a chemical poured out onto the battle field and one by one humans from both the sides dropped down dead

I felt Warrick stroke my fur and he said " goodbye my friend" and he fell to the ground. The Gas was so foggy I couldn't see most things. I ran over to where I remember lexis body was, I looked at her and felt upset. I payed down next to her, I just wanted all to fall silent so I could feel her heart beat again but I could not, her life was gone. The lions had feld the battleground and only half the wolves survived.

After that I traveled around as the war got worse and eventually I could see no more of the humans, the gas that striders had created wiped out most of the race, but some human survived, but they dare not surface. I still felt for lexi, she was my friend, my only friend but she was no longer. I now stroll the earth looking for any wolves that may live.
