I woke up in the middle of a vast forest with my back on a tree. I looked around, nothing but the forest. The sky was just a grey smog. It was hard to see even 50 feet in front of myself because the fog was so thick. A group of crows flew over head as I ducked down to avoid being hit. As I looked back up it was as if the crows were swallowed by the fog. I continued to look around the area. As I turned the corner around the tree I was rested up against I saw Kaytlyn resting on the opposite side. I ran up to her and shook her to wake her up. This probably wasn't the best idea being that she must've been scared still about what had happened before we blacked out because as she woke up she smacked me as hard as she could across the face not realizing it was me. When she realized what she did she crawled over to me asking if I was ok. "Yea...I'm fine." I said. I really wasn't because for one, it was hard, and secondly, it was were I'd been punched earlier. "I'm so sorry! I didn't realize it was you!" Kaytlyn sounded concerned as she hugged me when I sat up.
We were walking through the wooded area looking for a shelter. We didn't know what time it was because the sky was smoggy and it was foggy. I remembered my watch. I looked down to see that the watch I got from my grandfather was stolen. "No!" I screamed. Kaytlyn jumped a little. "What's the matter?" She asked. "My watch! My grandfather gave it to me before he passed. It was the only thing I had to remember him by after the fire that caught his house while he was asleep and my grandma was out of town. The watch was the only thing that survived the scorching fire." I started to shed a few tears thinking of the tragic story. "Oh...I forgot about that." Kaytlyn said, sounding upset about this aswell.
A few more hours passed as we walked. Still in the forest, no sign of any town anywhere. "Have any idea where we are?" Kaytlyn asked. "As much as an idea as you." I replied back. We stopped dead ins our tracks as we saw a black bear in the distance. It looked in our direction. I saw Kaytlyn's facial expression. She was thinking the same as me. "We are dead. This is it." Then the bear vanished. "The bear is too far into the fog now." Kaytlyn confirmed. "No," I said, "It's legs...they didn't move. It's head didn't spin back, away from us either." "Maybe the fog thickened up." Kaytlyn must've suggested this idea realizing that I was right. "Let's hope so." I said. We decided to turn and walk in a different direction than straight, and continued on.
