It was that time of year again, Christmas, and Mick's new neighbour was obsessed with Christmas and decorated everything which kinda irritated him considering he wasn't the biggest fan of the holiday, the only time he and his neighbour spoke was when they passed each other when she went to work and he got his mail. but the second Halloween was over the Christmas decorations came out and were placed on the front lawn and on the porch, Mick stood by his mailbox glaring at the mail in his hands as he heard his neighbour putting the decorations up.

"Hello, Neighbour!" Juliet says seeing Mick, he lets out an irritated sigh.

"Hello," Mick grumbles and closes his mailbox.

"Wonderful day, isn't it?" Juliet asks.

"No." Mick says turning to go back into his house.

"No? What's wrong with the day?" Juliet asks, Mick stops in his tracks.

"Everything." He says

"It's almost Christmas, why are you so grumpy?" Juliet asks, Mick spins around to look at her from his yard.

"Because I hate the holidays! And you're driving me nuts with the decorations!" Mick says loudly, Juliet looks at him with hurt clearly in her eyes. "It's stupid and that's why we aren't friends." He says, Juliet let's out a defeated sigh and slowly retreats into her home not sure how to respond to him, Mick lets out a sigh knowing he had hurt her feelings but he was outraged with the holidays and decided to retreat into his own home.

It wasn't until later when Mick once again heard Juliet outside since their encounter earlier that day, he stood up from the couch and walked to the window and saw her talking to a neighbour while putting up her Christmas decorations, his mind hasn't rested since he saw her retreating into her home with her shoulders slumped and her feet dragging at what he had said.

Go talk to her... you should apologise

His mind said to him.

No... no, we're not friends.

He argued back, why should he go apologise?

Because it's the right thing to do and you know it.

Mick lets out a defeated sigh.

"Fine," Mick says to himself grabbing his coat and leaving his home.

"Bye, thanks for helping me." Juliet's soft voice says as the person that she was talking to leaves.

"Anytime, if you need any more help, give me a call," Arno says, Arno wasn't Mick's favourite neighbour in the neighbour either but for many different reasons, Juliet spots Mick and quickly stood up from the grass about to retreat into her house.

"No, wait, wait," Mick says as he rushes towards her, Juliet reaches her porch and turns around to look at him, he stood at the bottom looking up at her.

"We're not friends, you said it yourself, so why should I wait?" Juliet asks.

"Because I have something to say," Mick says.
