Spinel hides behind a rock as the Diamonds ask Steven to come with them. She holds back her fear and sense to run. The Diamonds have always hated her, from her knowledge anyways. Before she could break down, Steven looked at her.
"Spinel, you can come out." He cooed.
Spinel shook her head.
"There's nothing to be scared of, Spinel." Steven cooed again.
With a lack of response, he held out his hand in reassurance.
"Everything will be fine, I promise."
Spinel grabbed it gently, stood, and walked from behind the rock. She never wanted to see the Diamonds, but Steven had calmed her. He smiled at her. She smiled back but it quickly retreated when she looked up. The Diamonds towered over her; have only seeing them on a screen, she never knew their true height.
Spinel tightened her grip on Steven's hand.
"Is that.. Pink's Spinel?" Blue asked in subtle shock.
Yellow gasped, putting her hand over her mouth. "It is.."
White continued, "But she looks.. different.."
Spinel put on a fake smile, "Y-Yeah.. Pink did leave me in her garden for six thousand years. No biggie.."
Yellow laughed in petty. Spinel's smile faded.
"Oh ignore her, you poor thing.." Blue said, glaring at Yellow.
White smiled. "But there's still essence of Pink in her. She could come with us instead of you, my starlight."
Spinel's heart sank. Going with the diamonds was the worst scenario in her head.
"That sounds fine! Spinel, are you.. okay with this?" Steven asks worryingly, seeing the fear in Spinel.
She begun to speak, "I want to st.."
The Diamonds expressions were turning grim, and White didn't look happy. Spinel thought,
If she used me, why wouldn't they?
Spinel looked at Steven, who was failing to cover up his worry for her and himself. Either she or he had to go.
Spinel sighed and hesitated to continue, "..I accept to take Steven's place."
The three rulers smiled once more. White held down her hand for Spinel to stand in.
"Then let us go now."
"Wait-- Right now?" Spinel asked.
"Yes, that is what I said. Come on."
Spinel looked back at Steven, letting go of his hand. She went and quickly hugged him before stepping into White Diamond's palm. Her and the Diamonds went into the ship and it flew off into the sky.
...
Since that day, life was calm. Beach City went through a quick recovery and Little Homeworld became as busy as the city itself.
Everything appeared fine, but..
