I sigh heavily as I put my fanciest dress on and put my hair in it's normal braid down my back but neater-how the government wants it.....things have changed since my grandma Katniss Everdeen Mellark had revolted against the government..........but it went back to how it was straight after her funeral (Peter had already died 3 years before)

She had been added to our history books and had a holiday named after her-her birthday the 15 of September.....We remember what sacrifices she made to make it better for us

The hunger games have been going on before her time and longer.......but now with changes......

Did I forget to mention that 'North America' doesn't exist any more.......it was destroyed by peacekeepers back when President Snow killed himself.......it was Katniss who said for us to move to a place that was once called 'europe'.

I certainly don't have then same attitude as my grandma

I am practically the shyest in my class i don't talk back i don't fight back and I do not talk to boys......

Today is the day of the hunger games reaping I am 16 and my name is on 4 times- I think

I am from district 4 (the fishing district) and I don't need the extra food-a lot less than the poor kids who live on the streets

I feel bad for them amd always try to give them more fish but it's hard since the new law has been passed about giving extra food........and sometimes thats not enough
