Breathless - A Kimetsu No Yaiba Story

The peaceful city

I woke up the next day, to find that everyone was ready to depart. They're only waiting for me.

"Ah, (Y/n)-san, good morning. We were waiting for you." Greeted Tanjiro

"Good morning~ We're bringing so much people ?" I ask, seeing that Kanao, Aoi -which had a bandage around her neck-, Zenitsu and Inosuke were coming.

Originally it was just me, Nezuko and Tanjiro. Then I added Shinobu. And now I'm bringing the whole butterfly estate.

"I asked Kanao to come, is that a problem~?" Say Shinobu

"Wherever Nezuko go, I go." Zenitsu add

"I asked to come too." Say Aoi

I look at Inosuke, reflecting on wether I should ask why he want to come, before deciding not to.

"That's not a problem if there's more people. Just don't freak out when we'll enter the city."

As I said that, the same kind of portal that I used to flee from Muzan appeared.

"Follow me."

I disappear in the portal, and reappear in front of a mountain elsewhere.

Soon the others follow, and they look around searching for a city. I put my hand on the mountain wall, and suddenly it open, revealing a series of stairs going down. The others demon slayers are whispering between themselves worriedly.

Apparently the reason they were up so early was to prepare a plan in case I was trying to trick them.

We go down the stairs, and we reach a room, with two doors. One to the left, one to the right.

"Girls to the left, boys to the right. You can change and leave your clothes and weapons here. No weapons and no demon slayers uniform in the city."

"You do know this sound extremely fishy, right ?" Ask Zenitsu

"I'm not following you without my sword. I have to be able to restrain you if it's a trap." Say Shinobu

I sigh. Of course it's not easy. Nothing ever is.

"You can poison me."

"Huh !?" They react

"You poison me, that way I'll be too weak to try anything. And as soon as you're convinced it's not a trap, you give me the antidote."

I can't believe I'm the one asking to be poisoned.

"I... I guess that's okay." Say Shinobu hesitantly, before stabbing me in the stomach way less hesitantly.

It took all my will not to dodge it. I turn even paler and my veins starts to turn wisteria colored, I also sweat a lot.

I hear some gasps from the people who think I'm innocent. That is to say Tanjiro and Aoi.

After that everyone get changed in the traditional wear of the city : white yukata and blue haori. Then we use the second door of each changing room to reach the city.

"(Y/n)-san, why are your clothes different ?" Asked Zenitsu

I was wearing the same colors, but switched. My yukata was blue and my haori white.

"That's because I'm the leader of this city !" I say proudly, as we reach it.

We were inside a big cave, with a village of traditional Japanese houses, and streets lights. Lots and lots of them : the city was as bright as if it was daylight, even though we were in a cave.

"It's beautiful..." Whisper Tanjiro.

Soon the girls joins us.

"It is pretty. But what about the people living in it ?"
