"Alright class." Cowell slams the door and chuckles as his half-asleep students startle into an upright position. "Let's talk about this new play I'm directing."
Lauren rolls her eyes. "This is bullshit. Camila always gets the lead and Shawn plays her perfect lover and the rest of us are just extras."
Shawn pouts. "Hey, we all audition. It's totally fair."
"Fair?" Lauren literally laughs out loud. "Save it bread loaf, I'm sick of the prince and princess getting all the good roles."
Cowell claps his hands together. "Okay! Order in the court. Camila, you have anything to add to this completely futile conversation?"
Camila looks up from her pocket mirror where's applying another layer of lipstick. "Not really. I'm confident in my acting so no matter what happens in an audition, I'll get the part."
Troye shrugs. "I kinda agree with Jauregui. I've been acting since I was a kid and since I moved here I haven't gotten any roles."
"Hmm okay." Cowell sits on a chair and clasps his hands. "And what about you Miss Hamilton? These are your friends, which ones do you agree with?"
Normani hesitates, looking between her two scary friends and her two pretty friends. "Uh- I mean- it would be nice to get better roles but I understand the decisions of the directors."
Dinah nods. "Yeah I agree with Mani." She grins at her girlfriend and bumps her shoulder.
"Thanks DJ." Normani grabs her hand and sends her a grin.
"Anytime baby cakes." Dinah quickly kisses her cheek before Cowell turns around.
Nodding, Cowell grabs a cardboard box from behind him. "I had a feeling that this would happen. So for this play, you will all choose your own parts out of this box."
Going around the classroom, he starts with Dinah.
"I got Marcos, twin brother of James." Dinah frowns. "That doesn't sound like a lead role. Also I'm not a brother."
Next was Shawn.
"I got James, twin brother of Marcos." He shrugs. "Huh. Momma's got some splainin' to do."
Camila laughs overly loud. "You're so funny baby."
Lauren groans and tosses her hair over her shoulder. "If you say one more word, I will kill everyone here and then myself."
"Alright! Lauren, pick a part." Cowell shoves the box under the green-eyed girl's nose to distract her.
Lauren rolls her eyes and grabs a slip of paper. "Thomas, husband of Jane." Scoffing, she tries to drop to piece of paper back in the box. "I'm not a husband."
"Uh-uh, no take-backs." Cowell jerks the box away. "The box has spoken! Camila, you're next."
"Yeah whatever." Camila grabs a slip of paper. "Jane, wife of..." she cuts herself off and turns to face Lauren, "Thomas."
"Oh hell no!"
Cowell clears his throat. "Language Jauregui. Like I said, the box has spoken. Rehearsals begin tomorrow after school."
Camila shakes her head. "No way. I'm not playing her wife, she hates me." She crosses her arms like a petulant child.
Sighing, Cowell pinches the bridge of his nose. "Since y'all clearly can't get along, meet me tonight at the taco truck downtown."
"Cowell we don't want to-," Camila starts.
"No way man I'm not-," Lauren interrupts, and then sends her a glare. "Whatever. You'll buy our tacos, right?"
