Kurt walked through the door to find Blaine on the couch sleeping. Lucy was lying on his chest fast asleep. His bow tie was undone, his hair dishevelled and an empty milk bottle in his right hand. A wave of affection towards Blaine hit Kurt. It was silly that they were fighting. Kurt loved Blaine with all his heart and couldn't bear to keep mad. He tiptoed into the kitchen to put away the leftovers Rachel and Jesse have to him. But Kurt was to busy trying to tiptoe he didn't see the open cabinet and tripped over and brought a pot and cutlery down with him. Soon Lucy's cry pierced through the air waking Blaine up. He was confused and then realised it was Kurt being clumsy.
'Sorry.' Kurt said half whispering and laughing.
'You know what? I-it's fine I'm just going to try get her back to sleep.' Blaine rolled his eyes and wiped his forehead and walked through to the nursery.
'What is up with you?' Kurt shouted annoyed whilst walking through following Blaine.
'I don't know, you tell me. Oh wait you wouldn't know because your never here anymore!' Blaine started to tea up with frustration.
'That is a lie! I barely leave your side and maybe I'm sick of it.' He through his hands up in the air in rage.
'Oh it's a lie is it? Well where were you when I needed you last night? Or this morning? Or this afternoon?!' Tears we're streaming but Blaine didn't want to let Kurt see and wiped his eyes.
'Wow, here comes the water works. Honestly, grow up Blaine!' Kurt walked up to him. Blaine has finally gotten Lucy to stop crying and Kurt took her out of his arms and cradled her in Kurts. A loud scream came from Lucy and the crying started up again.
'Here give her to me.' Blaine said lunging forward and taking her off Kurt. And the crying stopped. Kurt looked at Lucy, then to Blaine mortified. He really had been so little involved recently that she is starting to think he's a stranger. Kurt stuttered and walked away.
After spending hours out and about thinking about everything Kurt entered the flat.
'Blaine!' he shouted trying to find where he was. He walked into the nursery to find Blaine sitting in the rocking chair with Lucy sleeping on his lap. He was holding Red Riding Hood open half way through.
'She always did love that book.' Kurt sighed and said softly under his breath. He bent down and gently picked Lucy up trying not to wake her. Kurt walked over to the cot and placed her gently down. He walked back over and put away the hook. Kurt then pulled the blanket over Blaine and kissed him on the forehead.
'I really do love you.' He whispered in Blaines ear and watched him stir in his sleep then he walked out of the nursery closing the curtain. Kurt picked up the phone and dialled a number. He took a deep breath.
'Hello.'
Blaine was woken by a knocking on the door. He rubbed his eyes and panicked struck as he realised Lucy wasn't where he left her, on his chest. But he realised she was in her cot a let out a sigh of relief. The knock came again but louder. Blaine hopped up and ran over to the door. He slid open the door to find a grinning blonde standing there.
'OMG! Stop it right now. You are not here right now!' Blaine shouted and picked up Kitty and spun her around. She screamed with laughter.
'It's ya bitch!' Kitty clicked her fingers into guns and winked.
'I can't believe this what are you doing here? I thought you were midway through first semester.' Blaine said leading Kitty through to the living room.
'Um yeh I am. But Kurt called me saying he thought you could use a bit of a moral booster. Is he right?' Kitty tried to make eye contact with him but he just kept avoiding.
'You want tea? Coffee?' Blaine clicked the kettle on.
'Blaine! I did not come all this way for my best friend to avoid the problem I came here to fix!' She said turning his head to face her. Blaine sighed and walked through to the living room.
'I don't know why. But I just feel that everything is going one way. I'm like a stay at home dad and Kurt is the working one. Except both of us are unemployed and Kurts just never there.'
Kitty rubbed his shoulders.
'Sticky situation because you don't want to stop Kurt from having fun. But then again, you can't do all the work, it's not fair.' Blaine looked down and then up at Kitty. His big, hazel eyes started to tear up.
'It's just I-. As much as I love Lucy, it gets hard. I mean I'm exhausted and drained and my social life is literally a big fat 0 because I spend my whole life doing chores for my family. And I just really need a break sometimes and I never seem to get one.' He was now crying and waving his hands in the air. Kitty looked at him with sympathy in her eyes and an idea clicked.
'Well I think you should stop moping around.' She stood up and tightened her ponytail.
'Kitty, do you not think I've tried-' She placed her finger on his lip to shut him up.
'You have tonight free, Blaine. I will provide a night of the finest babysitting for free, till whatever time.' Kitty grinned at Blaine.
'I couldn't.' He said shaking his head and chuckled.
'Oh well, was worth a try.' Kitty shrugged .
'Joking! Ah omg I love you I love you!' He smacked a kiss on her cheek.
'Come one, help me pick my outfit.' Blaine grabbed her hand and dragged her away.
Blaine laughed and placed his hand on Kurts. He realised and then took it away.
'Look, Blaine. I know I have been unfair to you and I know honestly I have been a crappy husband. And honestly I don't have a reason for doing so but I do know that I will improve and get better. Because I love you.' Kurt said holding Blaines hands across the table.
'I love you too, Kurt. So much.' Blaine smiles at him lovingly across the table.
'We're home!' Blaine shouted as they walked through the door. They walked into the nursery where Lucy was sound asleep.
'Where's Kitty?' Kurt asked Blaine.
They walked through to the living room to find her asleep on the couch.
'Aw my baby.' Blaine crouched down and kissed her on the forehead and pulled a blanket over her.
'It's saturday tomorrow so she can sleep over.' Kurt said and smiled at her sleeping. She slipped his hand into Blaines hand and dragged him through to the bedroom.
