Amy sat across from me, sliding into the booth and sighing. "Why is this a better place to talk than the room?"

"Well, first of all, there's the fact we can get food. I am starving. Secondly, someone won't walk in and tell us that I'm an alien or something."

"Well, I don't even think we should be talking about it in public." She crossed her arms, glancing down at the menu on the table. "I know you enjoy being showy, fighting demon girls in public, but maybe you should be a little more--" I smirked, watching Amy flinch as Bell, the waitress that served the team last time I was here, appeared beside the table with her notepad already in hand. "Covert..."

"Well, miss know-it-all," I picked up the menu, skimming through it, "I'll have you know that we are in very trustworthy company."

"Oh, well, I mean--"

"I'll have The Heartstopper and a cola... and fries. Amy?" I looked up at her from the menu, her eyes narrowed in a way that said 'fine, you win this time.'

She glanced at Bell and started to turn red, "Well, I'm not hungry, but I could use something to drink... Diet-cola? And, um, fries." Amy crossed her hands on the table, not looking at Bell.

"Alright, be back in a tick, hun." She smiled warmly at Amy and disappeared.

Amy sat for a moment before rolling her eyes, "Okay, okay... I'm sorry for the demon girl comment, just tell me what you needed to tell me."

I smiled, "Well, I guess I forgive you." I sighed, my smile fading as I remembered the subject at hand; my imminent demise. "Demons... they can do something-- something terrifying. They can, um, transfer their consciousness through their armor into someone else--"

"Possession." She said, nodding, "Totto told me."

"Yeah, the part she didn't tell you is that they only ever were able to do it to humans. It's terrifying, disgusting, and painful..."

"But I thought...?" Amy said, leaning forward.

"Greed... he can do it to other demons. That's how he got all this power. Greed possessed thousands of demons, stealing their armor in the process. And, um... they don't die. They're trapped in there, in their armor. A part of Greed." I looked at the table, my heart sinking into my stomach at the thought of something like that happening to me.

"And, what? 'God' expects you to just jump in and join the rest of those trapped demons?!" Amy looked irritated, like I had just told her that I'd joined a murder cult as the receptionist or something.

"Well... I don't know."

"Didn't she explain anything?!"

"Kind of?" I sighed, rubbing the bridge of my nose. I had been mulling the thought over in my head for a while and still haven't been able to decipher it. That and I was getting exceptionally more hungry. Like, I could almost smell that burger through the walls. "She said that I had to be possessed by Greed or he would never be stopped."

Amy's eyes were bugged out, her hands balled into fists. "But that explains nothing!"

"Yeah, I know. I've been thinking about it and the only two ways that I can tell this can be interpreted is--"

"Either that she meant you will stop him by being possessed by him or he will be able to be stopped after you're possessed by him." I nodded. She just stared at me, her face full of anger. "And you didn't tell me this before, why?"
