Jonathan nervously chewed on his lip, waiting for Craig to explain why everyone was gathered in his living room. Frankly, the group had thought all this other-worldly shit was behind them, but apparently not.
"So, Smitty why don't you start?" The demon looked to where Smitty sat on the couch, growing nervous as everyone looked to him. He was all of a sudden covered in looks of curiosity, some of anger- after all, they did kind of have to put their lives on hold to be there.
He cleared his throat as he stood up to stand next to Craig. "Well, the thing is, Scott is kind of alive?"
"Fuck off." Marcel was in an immediate outrage, standing up- and causing a few of the others to do the same. "It's been how long?"
Smitty panicked, extending his arms out in front of him as he continued to explain himself. "I know, I know, I kept this from you and you're angry, but I have a reason, I promise. Please, just listen."
The group turned to Craig, wanting to know his take on the situation. He shrugged. "If you guys want to live in blissful ignorance and let us take care of it that's fine. I won't make you listen, hell, I don't even know if it's true-"
"Just start talking, Smit." Jonathan spoke up.
From there, Smitty began to explain everything, just like he had explained everything to Craig the night before. Starting right when he had walked into his and Scott's apartment to find him 'dead.'

His knuckles began to turn white from how hard he was gripping the hair of the man on his knees in front of him, who was gasping for breath while blood gushed from his nose.
"I....don't know what I did to de...serve this...." His words came in gasps as Scott stood over him, admiring his handiwork, particularly the bruises on the side of his victim's throat from where it had collided with the demon's fist. "You have the wrong person!" He pleaded, trying to look up at Scott only to have the demon shove him onto the ground with a scoff, pulling the knife from his back while he was at it, hearing a soft crunch as the man's nose collided with the hard bedroom floor once again.
"You're all so boring, begging for your life like that. It makes my job far too easy, you know that?" The demon crouched down, running the tip of his blade along the man's back, dragging out his kill even further. "No honor, either. You all just lay down, bellies exposed, like some fucking dogs. If you want to live, why don't you show it." He transitioned into a kneel, both of his knees on the ground as he stopped his blade between the victim's shoulder blades. He could see how heavily the man breathed.
Out of nowhere, the man tried to stand, forcing the knife to plunge into him, making him cry out in pain as Scott stood, taking the knife with him while blood began to gush out of the man's fresh wound. The demon laughed. "Haven't seen that one before. Go on, get up." He taunted, watching the man struggle. "You really want to live? Prove it."
The man struggled to his feet before throwing himself at the demon, who easily flipped him around and held him in a choke hold. His victim gasped, trying to get Scott's arm away from his neck. The demon could feel the man's blood begin to run down his chest. He smirked. "I appreciate the effort, dude, but you're just not good enough." He said before pulling his arm away and slicing his neck open, making his blood splatter all over the bedroom walls.
The human fell to the floor with a thud, followed by the opening of the front door, which immediately made the demon vanish into dead space, where he could escape through the front door while his foolish wife walked into the room her husband lay, dead and covered in his own blood. Her screams rang in Scott's ears long after he had shut the door and hopped in his car, escaping without anyone knowing he was even there.
While he drove, he used his phone to hack the camera on the laptop in the man's room-which had been on and recording- and sending the evidence of his kill to his client, who was quick to give the demon his deserved payment.
