"Why the fuck are all these supernatural beings trying to hunt us down?" Jonathan asked aloud, not directly talking to anyone but looking at Craig while he said it.
The demon rolled his eyes. "Well, it seems like they're only trying to hunt you down." He huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. "The rest of us are guilty by association."
"But why?"
"Oh, fuck, I don't know, maybe it's because you shot him. You know, the guy who was dating my brother- who got killed twice thanks to you- and is now a demon bounty hunter who surely wants your head on a stick." Craig snapped, his eyes flashing red as he glared at the human who he really wished he didn't have to protect. "But that's just a guess."
Jonathan rolled his eyes as he sat on the couch once again. "We hang out with a literal demon yet some how I'm the most hated one in this group."
Craig glared at the human who had just turned away from him. "One of these days I'm gonna say 'fuck it' and strangle you myself." He turned to address the group. "Anyway," he started off, clapping his hands together, "I just figured it would be better if we all stuck together for at least a few days. It's not going to be forever, you guys can go back to your lives moderately soon, but right now I need to keep my eyes on you. It makes me feel a whole lot better about the situation."
"Frankly, this whole thing sounds like a Jonathan problem. Why do I have to be involved?"
"I mean, I don't mind being protected by a demon, not sure about you, though."
"Hold on, hold on." Craig pushed between the humans that were close to fighting. "How do we know that he's going after Jonathan? He's a bounty hunter, if someone wants him dead, he could want us all dead."
Smitty loudly cleared his throat. "Well, we technically don't know if anyone has a bounty on you guys, we just know that Scott's doing some demon shit and collecting bounties and hasn't contacted me in a while- when he usually visits every few days."
"So what are we going to do about this?" Jonathan asked, still on the couch.
"Frankly, lets just give them Jon-"
Tyler suddenly gets involved. "Excuse me, but I don't want to be marrying a fucking corpse-"
"You're marrying Jon-"
"No, you dumbass, I'm marrying Craig, but since Jon is one of his assignments that means they have this stupid fucking bond which means if he gets hurt then Craig gets hurt. Now, what the fuck do you think it means if Jon dies?"
The room went silent, all eyes on the demon in the room, who looked at Tyler in disbelief. Of course he himself had thought about the consequences of his assignment dying- it has to happen eventually, right? But, he had never voiced his concerns out loud, fearing that once they were said everything would feel so much more real.
The demon awkwardly shifted in place. "So, I think we should just go with my plan." He attempted to change the subject to something less-morbid, but it didn't work.
"So we have to keep that bitch alive, to keep you alive?"
"Guys, I am right here!"
