my bestest, softest friend in the-" spinel's cheerful singing was cut off by your happy licks of joy on her cheek and chin. she sets you down and starts doing cartwheels around you as you bark and spin in place to follow her. she stops and kneels down in front of you. "I gotta say, (name)!" she starts, saying your new name a bit loud, still getting used to it. "you're so much fun!" she says itching your cheeks, causing you to thump your hind leg in extacsy. "and don't tell anyone I said this..." she said looking around, to make sure no one is listening, she then leans down to your ear, putting a hand beside her mouth, pointing a thumb over towards the group where Steven, lapis, bismuth and peridot are thinking of a plan to try and get Sapphire and Ruby to fuse into garnet. "but you're waaaay more fun than them." she whispers into your ear. You snort in amusement, but can't help but have that nagging reminder on how she can't grasp the situation at hand. she then back flips and raises her hands in the air gleefully. "come on, let's play another game!" she goes to pick you up, but her eyes flick upto a discarded object steven set aside. you tip your head to the side and spinel hums in curiosity. she picks you up and places you on her head and totters over to it and picks it up.
she stares at it quizzically and raises it up to your face, prompting you to sniff it. it smelled like rust and metal.. spinel in turn sniffs it and with pursed lips, eyes the small red button. "Wait, Spinel!" your head snaps up to steven who is waving an arm to you in a frantic way. "don't touch that thing!" but alas; she pressed the button and to your horror, the circular blade came whirling to life, vibrating spinel's body enough for you to fall off. and in that moment she lost total control, being dragged around on that thing. ruining objects left and right. and at some point, you got chased by the wretched thing. Steven knocked spinel off the saw thing, but it still continued its rampage, destroying scaffolding and at some point dislodged an anvil from it's hanging place. you realize now that it would crush the ruby character. you look on in horror as steven struggles to hold the pink shield's power, as it starts cracking. it won't end well. oh no! watch out! "ARF ARF!" you run at ruby in full speed and just before the anvil strikes, you ram into her, knocking her out of the way, while at the same time, knocking the wind out of you.
everything was hazy for a moment before you were brought back to attention with a bright glow. you turn to see the two beings dance and seemingly... fuse together into...
"garnet!" steven exclaims, running toward her. as you tried to contemplate what happened, you feel spinel pick you up. "are you okay there, (name)?" she said, regarding you in concern. "you took quite a spill there!" you reassure her with a few licks to her face, making a smile grow on her face. she starts to dance with you again giggling to herself and then started sing-chanting your name whilst throwing you up and down, causing your bark joyfully. after a while, she pulls you into a hug, humming in content at your warmth. she then looked over at steven who was getting ready to depart. she places you on your head and lashes an arm to him and runs to his side. "don't forget your best friends (name) and Spinel!"
steven looked... reluctant for some reason. "oh... spinel. you stay here with (name) and the others... and I'll be right back." the then let's go of her hand. as she stared with what looked like horror for a moment, you were focused on his other words. I'll be right back... you felt the hairs rise along your spine as you heard those words ring in your head from all those months ago... and they didn't... at this point a surge of anger ran through the both of you and spinel screamed "NO!!" in a harsh voice. LIES! "GRAARF!!" you barked viciously, baring your teeth fiercely. this startled him and he flinched back. typically at you, with your uncharacteristically vicious looking face and lowly snarling. even though you were a puppy, you looked like a wolf ready to attack. "o-okay.. let's go together?"
after a few moments you relaxed and wagged your tail in triumph as spinel giggled in triumph as well.
