Flashback.

7 days before graduation

(Y/N)'s POV

I looked up to my showerhead, letting my face drenched in water.

Embracing the loud but somewhat calm sounds of the dribbling of water as I subconsciously smiled.

Today is the day.

The day of the Summer Festival.

The day my revenge will take place.

After days of racking my brains and crying myself to sleep, I have devised a plan for my vengeance, so sinister but yet so simple.

It's called Operation Keeping Them Away.

I turn the shower hand counterclockwise, turning off the shower then I got out of the shower and dry myself with a towel.

I made my way to the sink, I can see the reflection of myself in the mirror. I could see hate and enmity welled up in my eyes.

The very same eyes that were filled with joy and hope just a month ago. Now, nothing has changed to it but the emotion behind it was replaced with fury and vengeance.

It's amazing how a single event, a single day could drastically change a person to his very roots and turn to a completely different person.

That's how time works, I guess.

I spray my face with water and walked out of the bathroom then went to my room.

Then I got into my usual comfortable clothing, it consists of just a basic grey t-shirt, and black shorts and then I dust off myself in front of the closet mirror and stylize my hair.

(Y/N): "Alright, let's do this." affirming myself in the mirror and went downstairs.

I approach the front door and slip in my sandals.

(Y/N): "I'm going out!" I yelled to tell my family and then left.

As I was walking outside of my gate, I could my scroll vibrate.

I pull it out and turn it on to find a text from the group chat that we specifically made it only for us four. Evelyn, Kaitlyn, Dom and I.

The text from Dom said that we are to meet up in a small ice cream shop near his house at 9:30 PM, considering the Summer Festival starts at ten o'clock and his house is near it. It was a wise choice.

On the way to the meeting spot, my mind starts to wander.

If my revenge plan succeeds then what happens after that.

It will be a victory, but it will end with an empty feeling in both of our hearts.

Revenge served more as a mechanism for someone who was losing to preserve a draw where both players were knocked out.

That surely could not be considered as winning.

Well, It's too late to change my mind now, I've invested too much and to end it abruptly and in an unsatisfying way, that will surely break me.

Without realizing it I reached my destination.

There I saw two people talking, one is a black-haired girl fidgeting and twiddling her thumbs while the other one is 5'11 tall guy with brown hair and he's leaning on the wall.

It seems they are having an engaging conversation at the moment. The scene made my heartache.

'They really look like a couple...'
