donghyuck looked up at the heart rate monitor for the 50th time that day, scared that it might go flat again.

he looked back down at the now sleeping boy, holding his hand and trying to warm it.

"intresting." was all the doctor had said when minhyung's heart had started functioning again.

the doctor did the tests and then left to go check up on taeyong and jaehyun.

minhyung's heart rate picked up speed and donghyuck immediately pressed the nurse button, scared that the heart might flatline again.

however

he felt a force squeeze his hand as minhyung's eyes fluttered open.

"oh gosh." donghyuck breathed out in relief as the nurses rushed in to see minhyung awake.

the doctor soon came running in and donghyuck saw how minhyung's eyes lit up.

"doyoung" minhyung whispered, still too weak to do anything.

minhyung looked to his left to see donghyuck with tears rolling down his cheeks.

"your awake!" donghyuck let that realization sink in as minhyung chuckled, wiping donghyuck's tears.

"dont cry." minhyung whispered, hand not leaving donghyuck's face.

"i love you." donghyuck leaned forward and hugged minhyung, burrying his face on minhyung's chest, careful not to injure him further.

minhyung smiled and brought his hand up to rub the younger's back, drawing random patterns to comfort donghyuck.

doyoung smiled at the two before leaving the room to get someone and give them space.

donghyuck peeked up from minhyung's chest and moved forward to connect their lips together.

minhyung kissed back with just as much force.

it was a pure kiss that radiated shyness and love, no tongue or teeth involved.

they pulled apart and donghyuck said shyly "i love you" again.

minhyung smiled and cupped donghyuck's cheeks "i know."

"that was the cutest shit i'd ever witnessed." taeyong muttered, causing the two to look up at the door with wide eyes.
