Johnny's POV

I flipped through channels on the TV. Mom walked into the house with a bunch of papers. "Bills, bills, more bills." I noticed that she dropped a paper and said,"Mom, you dropped one. Mom!" She ignored me. I sighed, picked up the paper, and read it. I re-read the letter over and over. "Erica!"

"Roses are red. Violets are blue. You know I can't stop thinking of you. From Donna Maitland. Where'd you get this?" Erica asked. "It's the girl. The girl from my dreams." Erica finished readin it out loud. "Meet me tonight at midnight. I'll be at the Bowl-a-Rama snack bar. Midnight? That's after closing. You gonna go?"

"I don't know," I replied. "I mean, I guess I should show. I have really weird feeling about this. I have to see her. She's so beautiful. There's just something about her. Like I know who she is." Erica smiled and handed the letter back to me.

I was at the Bowl-a-Rama now, looking in the little mirror in my locker. Donna wasn't here yet... But why did I here music. I walked to the snack bar and saw four people: two people working the counter and two other people that looked like a couple. I sat at one of the bar stools. The lady working the counter said,"It's about time you showed up."

I ignored her and said,"What are you doing here? This place is supposed to be closed." She scoffed and replied,"Closed? Never. Let's just say,'we're the night shift.'" I started tapping my fingers on the counter as the couple sitting beside me stared. The man tipped his hat at me and smiled. I waved back and looked at the clock. Where was Donna.

I turned back around as the lady behind the counter handed me food and said,"Hot apple pie ala mode and a two cola chaser." I raised my brow at her. "That's my favorite. How'd you know that?" She smiled at me and said,"We know. We know." I noticed that the couple were still staring at me.

Thirty minutes had passed and Donna still hadn't arrived. The couple were now dancing. I took the letter she sent me out of my pocket and the lady behind the counter asked,"What's your hurry?" Then I heard her voice. "Johnny?" I stumbled out of my chair and walked over to her. "I thought you weren't gonna show."

Donna smiled and said,"I would never stand you up. I can't, you're wearing my ring." I looked at the ring. "Oh, this is yours?" Donna nodded. "How'd you-"
"Let's dance, she said, interrupting my question. We started slow dancing to the music as I asked,"Who are you? How do you know me?"

Donna looked straight into my eyes. Deep into my soul. "You must know, you're wearing my ring." She was serious. That wasn't enough for me. "Yeah, but I-"
"Shh," Donna said, interrupting me again. "It's almost time to go."
"Go where? You just got here."
"But it's almost time."

The lady behind the counter said,"Better hurry." I still didn't understand as the clock started making a ringing noise. "Oh no. It's too late. I'll wait for you, Johnny." She started to walk away. "Wait for what?!" I yelled after her. Being the doof I am, I tripped over a table and broke the two flower vases. When I looked up everyone was gone. The lady behind the counter, the chef, the couple, Donna.

She was gone once again.
