dance the night away, love

Discreetly, when the other demons were distracted, (Name) and Alastor teleported away from the ballroom and onto the staircase outside with mischievous grins. (Name) collapsed onto Alastor's chest, as he placed a hand on her head-- both out of breath from the non-stop dancing.

"That was delightful, dear," Alastor said, closing his eyes calmly. "Simply hilarious! Vaggie's reaction was one worth more than gold!" (Name) nodded in response, "yeah. It was."

They enjoyed the short moment of peace .. two demons resting from a passionate dance together--

-- they weren't a couple. Fuck, wait--! They weren't a couple! (Name)'s eyes widened, and her breath hitched. This comfortable position was no longer as comfortable as she thought it was. "Alastor, what are we doing?"

"Why, whatever do you-- kh!" Alastor stopped himself mid-sentence, immediately coming to his senses. (Name), as her head was on his chest, felt his heart race. And, like robots, they seemed to malfunction.

They immediately separated from each other, both managing to maintain a smile, somehow. But, despite the high heats of hell, they felt a sudden coldness once they left each other's side.

(Name) was puzzled, a tsunami of confusing emotions rushing through her veins. It was foreign, and she didn't like it. Alastor, on the other hand, hated himself for what he felt. He, the all-mighty radio demon, was falling for someone.

He lost the ability to love ever since he was alive! That's not possible.

He fixed his monocle, coughing loudly and turning to face (Name). "Nothing happened! It was nothing but a simple dance of mockery, and to fool Vaggie into thinking that demons could fall in love! Please, that's simply not possible!" Alastor cackled, putting his hand to his eyes.

(Name) laughed, looking away to hide her sad expression. "Yeah," she lied. And for the first time since his passing, Alastor and (Name) felt their eyes grow wet and teary.

Because both knew that their little scheme had taken an unwanted and unexpected turn.

Dropping his radio-cane by the door, Alastor fell face-first onto the sheets. He fumed, cursing himself for letting some human feelings seep through him and into his hollow heart. For Lucifer's sake, he was Alastor! The radio demon, feared by all of hell!

He had no time for such nonsensical relationships. Alastor had originally began helping the Hazbin Hotel out of sheer boredom, looking for a new meaning in life. And he had already found it, or so he thought. Perhaps love would provide a better motivation in life, a source of entertainment for the both of them.

But unfortunately, he wasn't sure of the cyber demon felt the same. He wasn't sure if (Name) felt the same. What if she would mock his confession? What if she truly say their little ploy as nothing but a prank on the short-tempered, protective, Vaggie?

Oh, curse these feelings! They do nothing but upset, confuse and baffle! Useless, utterly useless! Alastor needed a reliever. Heaving himself off the bed, he groaned as he teleported his staff back into his fingers as he stomped out of his hotel room. Down the stairs and to the exit, he was surprised to see the gang awake.

"Oh, Alastor! You're back! Did you enjoy yourself?!" Charlie waved excitedly, beckoning Alastor to their little group. Vaggie crossed her arms, glaring with her one eye. "Of course he did. He was all lovey-dovey with his girlfriend (Name)," she scoffed.

Alastor tensed, the grip on his cane tightening. "Oh, I see you haven't caught on, yet! What a pity, Vaggie. We aren't in a relationship! It was nothing but a prank to fool you into thinking that we were together! How entertaining! Hah!" he exclaimed with glee, turning away, missing Charlie and Niffty's sad expressions.
