The familiar smell of coffee wafted over her as she prepared the next costumer's order.

Having worked as a barista for the campus coffee shop for a year now, Cris didn't need to actively think about her movements as she called for one Hugo to pick up his iced coffee.

She politely greeted the boy, realizing she knew him from her Psych class.

With her long blonde hair set in space buns and her ocean blue eyes, she was easily recognizable by many on campus, as her sociable personality and charisma made her a magnet for attention.

She was intensively thinking about her outfit for the party she was supposed to attend with her friends Nora, Viri and Eva on Friday night, as she called out the next name on the beverage she just made.

"Caramel Macchiato, no whipped cream, for Joana?" she did a double take as she noticed her roommate's name and usual order on the cup.

As she suspected, the now blue haired girl appeared, a smirk on her pale face.

"Hola Cris, I hope you put extra care in making this for your favorite roommate," she teased Cris, sipping her coffee.

"You're my only roommate Jo," Cris rolled her eyes, avoiding eye contact with the bane of her existence.

"Aw, come on, I know you have a secret crush on me Soto," Joana laughed at her. "Anyways, I really have to go. See you back at the dorm, bring me a brownie will you?" She said as she exited the shop in a hurry.

Cris didn't even bother to respond, taking the next order.

She had a weird relationship with her roommate. The Argentinian girl had wrecked havoc in Cris's otherwise calm life, literally barging in her room in the beginning of the year.

She would never forget about what her friends called the shower incident, the first time she met Joana, during which both girls were naked. She would never admit it, much to Nora and Eva's annoyance, but she would never get the memory of Joana, naked and wet from her shower, off of her brain.

Pushing that thought out of her mind quickly, she continued on with her job.

A few hours later she returned to her room, hoping to avoid Joana. That was always her aim nowadays, since she kept on finding her with that boy, Eloy, and she really didn't want to have another offending image imbedded in her brain, like two weeks ago when she found him on top of Joana on her bed in what she would consider a rather compromising position.

She opened the door, thankful to find the room Eloy free. She kicked her shoes off, throwing the little bag of brownies on Joana's bed, shaking her head at herself for being so whipped, albeit secretly. She checked her phone, opening her friends' group chat on Whatsapp.

"We are going to the party tomorrow, right? I really need to get drunk after this week I've had," she messaged the girls.

"You know, maybe you could just tell her?" Eva messaged back. After forgetting her keys for her room at the dorms for the twentieth time in the semester, the resident assistant had become a very close friend of hers.

"You say this at least once a week Ev. The answer is no, it would be too weird! We're roommates after all, and she definitely doesn't see me that way, plus she's with Eloy now" she quickly typed.

"We've seen how the girl looks at you tia." Nora responded, adding multiple rolling eyes emojis for good measure.

"Anyways, you can always forget about her and hook up with Ruben," Viri added, with many heart eyed emojis of her own.
