It was Saturday morning and as such, Harry left Samantha to sleep in after he woke up. She'd been pulling some pretty late nights at HarperCollins since she started three months ago and he knew she needed the rest. He looked down at Rufus who trotted next to him dutifully,
"Gotta piss?" Rufus' ears perked up. Harry reached forward to open the back door, "Enjoy." He said as Rufus hurried out.
Harry turned to grab one of the muffins he'd bought at the store the day before and sat down on the couch with his computer on his lap.
Emma had done her best to take up the slack now that Samantha had a real nine to five, but he knew she couldn't keep the pace up for much longer. Emma needed to focus on Gwen. Harry had dreaded the search for a new assistant but he was starting to write in the studio more and it was only a matter of time before the ball really got rolling and he'd need full time help.
So it was time to bite the bullet.
He was midway through his tenth resume when he heard Samantha come trudging into the kitchen. She yawned,
"Good morning."
Harry nodded,
"Morning." He said as he quickly shut his laptop.
Samantha leaned onto the counter,
"Why didn't you wake me up?"
"You needed your rest." He said while he stood up to kiss her cheek, "How did you sleep?"
"Great." She said as she yawned again, "Sorry I fell asleep last night."
Harry squeezed her hip,
"It's alright. You can make it up to me tonight."
Samantha smiled. She gestured to his laptop,
"What were you doing? New music?"
Harry shook his head,
"Resumes."
"Resumes?" Samantha asked, obviously confused, "Oh right..." She said when she finally got it, "To replace me."
Harry took a step towards her. He drew her into his arms,
"Not to replace you. To get a new assistant."
Samantha knew this would happen but that didn't stop her from feeling like she'd let him down. After the last three months they'd spent repairing the damage from her last screw up.
Harry clipped his finger under her chin,
"Talk."
Samantha frowned,
"Just need to get used to someone else washing your shorts I guess."
Harry's eyes widened,
"No one will be washing my shorts but me, thankyouverymuch." He squeezed her tighter, "I can wait a little longer if you want."
Samantha shook her head,
"No. Let's go look at some resumes."
"You sure?" He asked cautiously.
Samantha disentangled herself from his grasp. She walked over to his laptop, opened it up and sat down,
"Let's do this."

Harry guided Samantha to their seats in the church with his hand on the small of her back. It was Vanessa and George's wedding day. From the looks of it, they'd probably spent three years salary on the wedding. Harry glanced around before taking his seat next to Samantha. She was situating her sweater on her shoulders when she noticed him looking around,
