Samantha and Harry had the unfortunate happenstance of waking up at exactly the same moment the next morning. There was no way to avoid each other without making it known that's exactly what they were doing. And so that's exactly what they did.
Samantha walked into the kitchen to make coffee and start her breakfast while Harry walked into the bathroom to take a shower. Samantha and Harry had made it their morning routine to take a shower together since she moved in but today there was no way she was going anywhere near the shower.
She was just about finished with her breakfast when Harry walked into the kitchen. She held her breath, watching as he opened the refrigerator to grab his own food. When it became clear he wasn't going to offer any olive branch, Samantha decided to try to keep it light,
"Emma wanted to meet us for dinner tonight."
Harry nodded but didn't speak.
Samantha tried again,
"I told her I'd let her know this afternoon."
The only sound greeting Samantha was after Harry cracked an egg and let it fall into the frying pan. She sighed,
"Harry-"
"Suuuuurrrreee." He answered finally as he turned the burner down, "We can have dinner with Emma." He turned to look at Samantha pointedly, "Sounds good."
Samantha let out a deep sigh as her head dropped. She lifted it to say something only to be greeted with Harry's back.
She hated this feeling. She felt like it was her first day here again with Harry treating her like she was a non-entity. She knew this disconnect was partially her fault but his condescension as if she'd done it on purpose was irritating, to say the least.
She stood up from the table,
"Alright then, I'm gonna go take Rufus for a run." She said as she breezed past him.
"Haaaave fun." She heard Harry say as she made her way down the hallway.

Harry pulled the door of Mia's shop open, it seemed heavier than usual though he had to admit since he and Samantha had suddenly crashed against the ground of reality, everything seemed heavier. He was hoping Mia would read him and ask the right questions before he had to come out and say what it was he wanted. Was it manipulative? Maybe. But he needed to talk about what was happening with Samantha.
What happened that morning at breakfast scared him. He hadn't felt such anger towards Samantha since she'd uttered Gwen's name during an argument about whether or not he was going to go to a picnic honoring Gwen's memory. He had worked hard to put this part of him to bed and the fact it was popping up again was alarming, to say the least.
Thankfully Mia was at the counter when he walked in and the few people in the bakery barely seemed to notice him much less care he was a celebrity. Harry walked towards the counter without incident.
Mia looked up from her pad of paper. She did a double take when she saw Harry but she wasn't exactly shocked to see him. Considering her mistake at dinner the other night the only thing she was shocked about was that it took this long for him to seek her out.
She smiled,
"Hello..."
Harry smiled in response,
"Hello."
"Are you here to try another one of the new creations?"
Harry nodded as he pulled himself up onto one of the stools,
