Dazai's Sister

Chapter 2.

Day 1 on the Titanic.......

Hikari was on deck keeping Kunikida company, as the ship had left Paris, he had a bad case of sea sickness.

Hikari stood by the blond gently rubbing his back as he loses his lunch to the sea.

“You don't have to take care of me, you should enjoy the cruise Hikari"

“I can’t do that, it's not fair on you if I leave you here like the others did, well apart from Atsushi who went looking for a doctor on board"

“It makes me feel relaxed knowing your nothing like Dazai"

He ends up puking some more, as Hikari looks away for a moment.

“is my big brother really that trouble some?”

Kunikida couldn't really reply as he continued to vomit, but someone catches Hikari's attention and her mind switches off as the ginger catches her eyes he was wearing his usual clothes and hat, he was looking over the higher up railing of the boat, almost like he's looking for someone.

Kunikida wipes his mouth after vomiting.

“yeah your brother is very trouble some, he's lazy, always makes fun of others, only thinks about himself, oh and he’s always trying to commit suicide!!!”

“now don't go telling my cute little sister lies Kunikida"

Dazai approaches them, catching Hikari's attention as he lies not wanting Hikari to know he's suicidal.

“you seemed out of it Hikari, did you see a cute guy or something"

Dazai teases her as she blushes.

“yeah he's up on the first deck"

She points and Dazai looks, but Chuuya wasn't standing there anymore, but a older man Dazai recognized right away was in that spot.

“you like older men eh Hikari, you know I'd rather you picked someone other than Hirotsu, he's a remember of the port mafia”

“What no..... it was someone else... he had ginger hair and wore a fancy hat”

“A fancy hat? Don't tell me he’s here too"

Hikari was a little  confused by Dazai's words but she sees the familiar guy she was looking at before heading there way, and she hides behind Dazai shy.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE DAZAI"

Chuuya yells to get the others attention.

“oh if it isn't chibi, so your here too"

“damn right I am, I’m returning back from a mission”

Chuuya had noticed Hikari hiding, he didn't  really care why she was hiding, but he was concerned that perhaps she's one of Dazai's targets for double suicide.

“are you harassing this chick into doing double suicide with you or something, is that why your here Dazai?”

“I had thought about it chibi but no, I would never drag my cute little sister into something like that”

“wait since when did you have a sister!”

Before Dazai could respond Hikari slaps her brother across the face, causing Chuuya to clap his hands at the sight"

“about time a chick slapped you bastard"

“SO IT IS TRUE, YOU REALLY ARE ALL ABOUT SUICIDE BROTHER! YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT THAT SUBJECT"

Hikari walks past her brother going over to Kunikida making sure he's okay.

“Hikari..... I didn't want you finding out this way"

“she's gone asshole, I don't blame her getting pissed at you, in away I feel sorry for her, having you as a brother must be a real pain in the ass"

“I didn't want Hikari knowing I want to do double suicide Slug.... besides having her come back home might well change my mind”

“I highly doubt that Dazai, anyways stay out of my sight, I rather not destroy this beautiful ship with corruption”

“same goes to you Chibi and stay away from my sister too”

They both turn there backs to each other and walk off different directions, Dazai goes up to his sister.

“I'm sorry Hikari... I didn't want you finding out like that, but having you back in my life will change all that”

“and how exactly... by having me do double suicide with you big brother? Well it isn't happening, had you forgot our dad died drowning himself"

“no I didn't forget I was there to witness it.... then our mother took off with you after my ability awoken, scared that the mafia or some would hurt you, those painful times is apart of why I.....”

Hikari looks at him seeing sadness in his eyes, something he had been hiding for along time, Kunikida remains quiet not wanting to interrupt the two siblings.

“Well here’s the thing Dazai I rather you didn't commit suicide, if you need someone to talk to I will listen. I'm going to the bar for a glass of wine”

“before you do, I want you to stay away from that man, Chuuya Nakahara is a very dangerous chibi, he's a member of the port mafia, if your going to have a crush on someone , please don't  be on him”

“I get it you two hate each others guts, fine I will stay away from him, now I really want some wine”

Hikari walks off into the ship, leaving Dazai and Kunikida behind. Kunikida was done throwing up for now.

“so that explains a lot, you've had it rough”

“yeah... all my life, listen Kunikida, don't tell the others, I rather keep this between us"

“sure but only on one condition”

“anything for you partner”
“help me back to my room... I feel weak from all that vomiting”

Dazai nods as he chuckles, he does as asked and helps Kunikida who wraps one arm over Dazai's shoulder as Dazai holds him up as they head to his room.

On another part of the ship a girl with short brown hair and blue eyes, sat on a bench with a opened bag of candies, she wore a pair of reading glasses and was going threw her research file filled with research about gifted users.

She grabs a gummy from the bag of snacks  putting it in her mouth and hums a tune while looking over the papers.

Ranpo walks over after spotting the bag of jelly’s and helps himself to the girls snacks as he picks up the bag and sits next to her as he eats the jellies. Getting the girls attention as she closes the file.

“do usually go around and take other peoples food?”

“no  I ran out of snacks and there doesn't seem to be a store here”

“but still that gives you no reason to take someone else’s food"

Ranpo takes the file off the girl and gives her the candies back.

“hey now what are you doing, give that back!”

Ranpo ignores her and opens it seeing some of the paper work.

“please give it back, if I loose this file I will lose my job"

“so your name is Aiko huh, I've heard of your company, you guys are researching special abilities”

“how do you know my name"

Ranpo shows her the front page with her name on.

“It’s written here, not that I needed to read it, I already knew it, I have a special ability of my own”

“hang on are you that famous detective from Yokoyama, Ranpo?”

Ranpo gives her the file back only to help himself to her candies again.

“yeah that's me, so tell me why are you researching us, I saw some of my friends profiles in that file"

“well I can't really tell you, it’s just my job"

“Allow me then, your searching for where it all began, where the ability’s   have come from and how people have gotten these ability’s correct?”

Aiko was amazed at how spot on he was, and nods her head as she was speechless.

“yeah.... and it's rumoured some people where experimented on, like the ware tiger"

Ranpo gets up as he turns his back to the girl.

“I should be heading off, it’s almost lunch time, let's talk more about this tomorrow same time same spot"

She watches him walk away, she found him to be rude and really weird yet, she wanted to get to know him more, maybe Ranpo might be able to help her out some time figuring out how the ability’s all started.
