It was a dark night in the kingdoms.f Odera when merlin was born to king Balianor the dragon lord. this would make merlin a very powerful warlock for the kingdom. He was born from magic itself. However when the young warlock was in the castle training yard with his nights and younger brother when the alarm bells went off in the castle. Because of being the crown prince of Odera, he had to run away while his brother, father, and mother fought to keep their land safe from his uncle who had been forced to turn against his family because of a major fake threat on his life. When Merin got to a safe village in a boring kingdom he left his mother the queen there to continue on his trek. In the next town, he sent a message to the king of Camelot, Uther Pendragon, saying that he would be coming to seak help to regain his former kingdom.
When he got there he went in to see the king. They bowed at each other, in respect.
"King Uther, I know I am desperate to come looking to you for help."
"What do need".
" Well have lost my kingdom to my traitorous uncle and I need help to regain my place in court. I can tell that you know who I am. "
" How do I know you, and what can you do to help me?"
Merlin makes his royal face marks disappear in front of Uther without fear. Uther notes that he uses no spell. He is a warlock of great power. He made his face look like anyone from a crowd.
After Merlin showed his power, he explained that he had talked to the great dragon. Kilgharrah had said explained that without Merlin, Authur would not become the Once and Future King. He also explained that because of this, it meant that to the druids, When they came he would also be known as Emrys, the Prince of Enchanters.
They made an agreement, that on the day that he came into Camelot he would become Prince Authur's manservant for saving him. He wouldn't understand why Uther thought this was a good reward.
It was on the day of execution for using magic when Merlin 'arrived' the next day. Just after it finished a greaving mother threatened to kill the king's son using the magic that he despised. This meant that it was Merlin's job to protect Authur from this witch's hand. By the end of the day, Merlin had the position he wanted as the Prince's manservant. He had done his job well.
