Love - I was not made for it. Physical beings such as humans have had the luxury to experience such emotions, but I have never felt it. I was made for Order, a creation similar to that of an Archangel. Many of the emotions that mortals get to taste, I cannot feel. I do not understand, for there is very little for a non-corporal body. It is a ghostly existence of the unseen.
Raziel sat there contemplating as she stared at the pool of water of liquid light.
This was the city of the celestials, a place full of peace and light. A song was always in the air as there was always someone singing. For a moment, the notes dripped away and silence was heard for the first time in a while. Then a song of welcoming for a celestial having return from an experience as a mortal soon followed and she joined it. Her voice joined the melody for a short time, letting it sink through her. The music was like anything one could have heard, liquid, free flowing, harmonized in the most beautiful cascade of sounds, not voices really, but of bells, rain, wind, and sunshine. The song ended and other voices continued to sing in the City of Light.
Footsteps followed up the path to where Raziel sat on a simple bench. She glanced up to look at the being before her. Raziel studied the goddess standing at the top of the path. The goddess dressed simply and nodded her head at Raziel, acknowledging her presence. The goddess continued on down the path towards the Serene Gardens. Raziel reached down to touch the pool and froze. She blinked and looked up.
He/it did not speak as it stared at her. It was her Creator. It was her Source. It was where she drew her power from besides her own personal power. She sat down at the bench and looked up at him.
“Raziel,” it spoke, neither male nor female, but a blend of sounds from many voices of both genders.
“Raziel,” it spoke again. “You have a choice in front of you.”
“What is that?” Her voice sang the question trembling. She had not seen her Creator in a long time.
“What do you want?” She sang softly now, bowing her head in respect. She looked up at it.
“You have been here a long time, in harmony among the others. It is time to decide a path to take. It has been on your mind for a while. It is your choice. What is your choice, Raziel?” The voice spoke pained in a way, as if when a mother and a father watch their child grow up into an adult and they had to let go.
Raziel stood trembling staring at her Creator. He held her hands out towards her. Raziel placed her hands in his, trusting him. “I would go where you will me to go. If you say to the east, I will fly to the east. If you say to Earth, so be it. If you say to the go to Relo’an, than it are so. I will do what you will.”
“That is not it, Raziel.” The voice melted into more masculine sounds, partially coming out tired.
Raziel blinked and looked up at her Creator, her song full of questions and no understanding. “What are you talking about?”
“You do not understand, do you?” It asked.
“Understand what? What are you trying to say?” Raziel could not believe she was asking question of her Creator! She could not divine his Will or what he expected of her. Her expression startled as she felt something. Her hands were gripping her white robe, clenched in tight fists. She stared at her hands that were white from clenching her robe so tightly. What…? What is this?
She looked up at It. “Ah you are beginning to understand now.” Its voice held the sense of a smile in it, Raziel noted.
“I…I don’t understand,” she sang weakly to him. Raziel sank to the ground trembling. If she was in a true physical form, she swore her heart would have jumped out of her body.
What is this? What is He talking about? What is his Will? I do not understand. Please…please…please explain! I cannot grasp what you want. Why do you hide it from me? I am so lost. The turmoil burned through her mind like nothing else. She could not grasp what It wanted from her. What is his purpose? Lost - I am so lost.
“Your thoughts are in turmoil. I see you still do not understand,” its voice returned to the multitude of voices overlaying it. “Well you shall see Raziel. I am placing you into a human baby. I know - life is precious. This baby would be still born if a soul is not given to it and only the soul of someone incarnating will do. You will get what you have always desired even if you have not known it.”
