Igrid beckoned on and on in my ear to explain
What had happened.
Though I HAVE explained it too her specifically- she refuses to believe that the truth is all that occurred.
I suppose she's expecting me to say that I stumbled upon a clump of corpses riddled in stab wounds and missing limbs, I suppose she Longs for thrills- but just doesn't want to be apart of them.Igrid huffed at my annoyance and crossed her arms over her chest, the time was 8:09 AM Morndas,
The sun had risen nearly to its peak and blessed us with early warmth, luckily there were no winter clouds to shroud the sun and bring us the harsh cold just yet- but the current temperature was enough to bare
"You know, I don't quite understand a person like you. Always speaking your mind- I'm still stunned of the words you chose to say to the orc"
Igrid murmuredTurning her head from the road in front of us to me.
"It was a compliment, I don't see the trouble""Well, yes true. But the way you said it- have you a man's sack between those legs?"
"I think it's you who's words need thinking" I groaned "but to answer, no I'm a woman",
"Certain?"
"Yes Igrid I'm certain".
Peculiar.
Igrid hummed
"So, about that elf. How many people did he kill?" She asked out of the blue which was a fair change of topic- odd but better than my genitalia.
"One, to my knowledge. Probably more Had I not intervened."
"Speaking of the elf, what type was he?"
I asked, I had seen a Dunmer Elf- Irileth was a very stoic woman with pride I could respect (yet also fear), but this one was new to my eyes"High elf, they're usually the ones behind the Thalmor embassy, though not all are frowned upon. I used to have a friend who was from that species, he moved away sadly" Igrid hummed,
Reaching for her satchel and grabbing the water canteen and taking a sip
"High Elves...do They all have such wondrous Color schemes?" I asked her rather curiously
"I suppose so" Igrid shrugged
We came across a cave on our descend of a small mountain top, curiosity came over me as I looked at the wooden carts and shovels that rested outside of it, "would this be suitable shelter should we run into trouble?" I asked to Igrid who kept walking
"Igrid?"
"Igrid?"
"Are you ignoring me"
I huffed and caught up with her.
"You picked the last Rest Stop, and we almost got killed. I'm not following you into some cave"
Igrid groaned and gave me a sharp dramatic huff.
"Please as if I knew there'd be an infiltrator"
I rolled my eyes at her sass and walked by her side
The temperature dropped significantly as the day went on,
The two of us stumbled upon a local Hunter and bought simple wolf hide for a trade of berries and 10 gold.
It wasn't great, but it would keep us from getting hypothermia. Igrid sneezed from time to time and blamed it on the Fur but I knew she had caught a cold, the weather grew more fierce as we traveled and knew better than to tread onwards in such a climate.
But there was no place to seek shelter and there was no sign of the road, "Maybe we should have stayed in that cave" Igrid raised her voice to have it heard through the loud roars of winter's winds,
"What?" I shouted in return only able to hear the blow of wind past my earsRaising my arm above my eyes to shield them from the falling snow, the wind blew viciously in the opposite direction of our destination thus keeping us from moving swiftly, it was tough friction that pushed us back when forward was where we needed to head,
I couldn't see past the blurred view before me and I'm certain Igrid couldn't either, the weather worked against us
"Travel left Theres a Village Just a Miles away"
A deep voice called from behind us- loud and clear compared to my own or Igrid's,
I didn't bother to turn back to see who it was since I couldn't even see in front of me,
I grabbed onto Igrid's arm and the hands to which belonged to the voice grabbed us both
And led us in the direction it had informed,
Traveling for what felt like an eternity till
The weather fell into slumber and settled.
Still snowing but calmer than before, the sky cleared enough for us to have our vision back,
Both of us grasping tight onto the fur pelts around our bodies.
"Thank you-" I started and turned to meet the one who led us out of harms way, my body stiff and shaking from the temperature but-"It's you"
Igrid blinked and jumped in shock and gave a small shriek as her eyes widened and brows furrowed
"The elf?!"
She gasped"You were sent to face prosecution were you not?" I blinked in surprise
The elven male glared at Igrid before his gaze returned down to meet mine,
I was astonished as to how tall he was, elves were certainly extraordinary in height compared to Nords,
"Yes but prosecution would merely get in the way, I'm busy and have no time for the law"
He huffed and walked around me and forward
" plus. You of all Nords differ from the rest, you speak with reason and I can find some solace in it.
Come, no more will we travel in the eye of the storm"
He proceeded
I stopped in my track and stared whilst Igrid eyed the man warily, I hadn't even noticed she had grabbed at her dagger,
"Relax he means us no Harm" I assured, "What is your name Elf" I called to him"Sudryl"
He answered
