Chapter 1:A New School

Alice's P.O.V.

I trudged into my bathroom.I slowly released my thick,wavy hair from its messy bun and grabbed the brush flinching at almost every single tangle.I hated the mornings so much.I put on my makeup and quickly straightened my naturally wavy hair.Then I threw on my outfit,got a piece of toast from the kitchen,and headed to my new school.I was a little bit worried as I walked through the doors because it was my very first day.My family had never moved before so it was really awkward for me,especially because the school year had already started.When I walked into the front office the secretary handed me my class schedule and told me that a student had already been assigned to show me around.I turned around and saw a tall girl with long,curly brown hair waving at me.

"Hi"I said nervously.

"Hi,I'm Eleanor"

"I'm Alice"

"Nice to meet you,so I guess I'll be the one showing you around.So,if you have any questions or anything you can just ask me."

Eleanor showed me where my locker was and where all of my classes were located.It was quite easy considering we had all the same classes except for Spanish and biology.At lunch I was invited to sit with her and a few other people.The first person to catch my eye was a boy with brown curly hair and the biggest green eyes I had ever seen.I didn't really talk much because I was really shy and felt like I would have been a bother.At the end of the day it felt so good to get away from all the people looking at me.And luckily for me,I started school on a Friday so I would have at least two days before the awkwardness returned.I had just started walking home in peace until I heard someone coming up behind me.It was Eleanor.

"Hey Alice I was wondering if anyone told you about the dance tomorrow night?"

"Dance?"I said confused.

"Yeah,there's a Halloween Ball tomorrow at 8p.m.If you want me and Dannielle can help you find a costume for it."

"I don't know I don't really know anybody here"

"Exactly,that's why it would be good for you to go.It would be the perfect time to get to know some people"

"Alright I guess I'll go"

"Yayyy"

THE NEXT DAY

It was about noon when I got a call from Eleanor saying to meet her and Dannielle at the mall at half-past twelve.So I got my makeup on,just threw my hair into a ponytail and headed towards the mall.When I got there I was greeted by Eleanor and who I guessed was Dannielle.She had tanned skin and black curly hair.So far she seemed pretty nice.We walked into Escapade,Dannielle and Eleanor showed me their costumes they had bought for tonight,then began to help me find one.An hour later we found the perfect costume for me and then stopped by Starbucks before preparing to got to the dance.
