Y/N's POV

What does it feel like to be stepping on the sand?

Millions and millions of questions I want to ask are going through my mind right now.

And of course, they should be answered by humans.

What does it feel like to have legs like humans?

I seriously want to know.

I was currently resting my elbows on the giant rock on front of me as I lay my head on top of my palms, daydreaming about stepping out on the land.

"I hope one day I woke up having legs..." I said to myself.

I stayed there for a while when I hear an engine noise.

Oh my gosh! Humans!

I got excited when I hear boats coming, it's because they are humans on it and I want to see them.

I was about to swim to the surface when I remembered what my parents said to me.

"Never swim to the surface"

It's not like I would get hurt or something...I will try to be careful so they won't see me.

I slowly swim to the above and saw the boat that stopped right on front me, it was filled with people.

"Happy Birthday Yangyang!" A woman shouted.

"Look at those fishes, Yang..." A man said as he pointed at the sea.

I swam around the boat to see a kid just like me, smiling and looking at the fishes until I heard the engine noise again.

I thought it will go away now but it didn't.

Maybe it got broken?

"Hey, what happened?" The man said to the boat driver.

"Hmmm the engine kinda got broken..." The boat driver said to him, inspecting the engine.

"Hey, what's wrong?" The woman walked towards the two men, leaving the child alone, still looking at those fishes.

My attention was now focused to the kid on front of me, watching happily at those fishes swimming around as the other people's voices slowly fading away.

"Fishy~" The kid said cutely, climbing up the boat rails and reaching his arm out to touch the fishes.

The other people were still focused about the problem in the engine when the boy keeps on reaching his arm out, losing his balance and fell into the water.

The people heard the loud splash in the water.

"YANGYANG!" The woman screamed as I immediately hide when they look around the area.

"YANGYANG?" The man shouted, looking for him.

The boat driver decided to help them find him too but they didn't see him anywhere floating around.

"Don't worry, I'll call some help!" The boat driver said to them.

I watched them before I decided to swim underneath the water to save the boy.

Luckily, I saw him. He was slowly descending to the deep part of the sea but I grab his arms and pull him to me.

"Hey buddy, I'm gonna be your new friend now! As my new best friend, I'll be giving you my necklace as a sign of friendship!"

I took off my seashell necklace and put it on him as I start pulling him. Not to the surface but towards the mermaid kingdom.

I happily pull him towards the palace as the other mermaids and mermans were shocked to see me carrying me a human but I don't even care.

"HEY MOM! DAD! LOOK WHAT I BROUGHT!" I excitedly called them.

"Awww honey, another seashell you found- Oh my god!" My mom said as she swam towards me before looking at the human.

"What's wrong?" My father suddenly came and saw the kid I was holding in my hands.

"Y/N..." My father saying my name, in a calm manner.

"You shouldn't bring a human here...this place is dangerous for them..." My father said to me.

"Where did you find him?" My mother asked as she inspects the boy.

"I saw a boat on the surface and he fell from it!" I told them.

"Honey, I told to you to never swim to the surface" My mother said to me.

"I'm sorry..." I said as I look down, still holding the kid.

"We should return him back to the surface" My father said as he carry the child and swim to the surface.

I followed him from behind without him or my mother knowing.

As we reached the surface, my father place the kid down the sand without anybody seeing him but me and go back into the water.

But I stayed there for a while, swimming towards the kid.

I realized that he wasn't breathing, there must be water stuck inside his lungs.

I remembered what my mother taught me, a song that revives people after they drowned.

I started humming the song while holding the kid's face. I felt the water coming up from his lungs.

After humming the song, he coughed out the water from his mouth as he slowly opens his eyes.

I stared at him for a while before I heard some people.

"YANGYANG!"

I quickly crawl back to the water and hide immediately behind the nearest rock as I watch the woman running towards the boy.

"Oh my god, are you okay, who saved you? Thank god you're alive, I'm so sorry I didn't watch you..." The woman said, almost crying as she hug her son tight and he hugs her back.

A man came and run towards them both, hugging them tightly.

I watched them together as I decided to go back to the kingdom before my parents get mad at me.

I see now why humans should go back to their land...
