Yangyang's POV
"Yangyang, we'll have a picnic at the beach!" My mom called me from downstairs as I go there.
"Yangyang, get those sandwiches at the table and carry them to the table outside the beach..." My mom said as she prepared some stuff.
"Okay..." I said as I pick up the plate of sandwiches and go outside to put them on the table that my mom is talking about.
I went back inside the house as my mom asked me.
"Where's your brother?" My mom asked me.
"I don't know, he might be at his bedroom, smoking cigarettes-" I said to her before my stepbrother came downstairs and walk right past me.
Me and my mom watched him left the resthouse and stare at the door for a minute until my mom speaks again.
"I found 30 used cigarettes inside his trashcan and 2 new packs of cigarettes inside his drawers..." My mom said to me.
"I wouldn't be surprised if he does drugs..." She added.
"Honey, the table is now ready! Are you two gonna go outside now?" My dad called us outside.
"Yeah! We're coming!" She said as we both went out the resthouse together.
We walked to the table and see the sandwiches neatly placed on the table.
We all grabbed one as my stepbrother quickly grab the sandwich on the plate and walk away from us.
I look at my parents to be watching him too.
"What's wrong with that kid?" My father asked.
"You should have left him at your stupid ex-wife's house..." My mother mumbled as she eats her sandwich.
"You know what, we shouldn't be talking about our problems right now, we should enjoy!" I said to them.
"Your son's correct, we shouldn't be talking about problems" My father said to my mother.
"But your son-" My father cut her off.
"Just give him some space..." My father said to her as we continued eating our sandwiches.
I look around the place as I look up the resthouse to see the girl watching us through the window.
"Mom, it's the girl..." I said as I point at the girl watching us from the resthouse.
"Oh, Y/N, come outside, we have an extra sandwich for you!" My mother looked up at her.
The girl seems to hear what my mom said so she walks away from the window and go outside.
When she was now here with us, I pick up the extra sandwich and give it to her.
"H-here..." I said, getting shy again.
She gave me a smile and get the sandwich from my hand.
She's so cute...
"Oh, I forgot to tell you two..." My mom said to me and my father.
"What is it?" My father asked her.
"Her name is actually Y/N..." My mom added.
"Y/N? I-I thought she's mute" My father said to her.
"She is, I told her to write her name but she told me that she can't write. But luckily, she spelled her name with her own hands..." My mom said.
"And...she doesn't remember her family and where she lives..." My mom added.
I look at her to see her looking down on the table.
Y/N...
"I thought that she must have amnesia, something bad must have happened to her because you saw at the shore, right?" My mom said to me and I nodded.
"Well, as long she can't find her real family, let us consider her to be part of our family!" My father said happily.
"That sounds great, honey..." My mom said to my father.
"I will take care of you like my real daughter..." My mom said as she started caressing her hair.
Y/N smiled at her and at us.
She's beautiful, that smile will be the death of me if she continue doing that...
She finished her sandwich and stared looking at the sea.
She stood up from her seat and started walking slowly towards the sea.
My family watched her as she move her feet near the water.
The sea reaches her feet while she just stand there right on front of us, facing the sea.
"What's going on with her?" My father whispered.
"I don't know..." My mom replied.
"You should go talk to her..." My mom suddenly faced me.
"W-what? Why?" I asked.
"Just go" My mom said as she push me towards her.
As I was finally behind her, I decided to go stand beside her and watch the sea too.
"Hey..." I shyly said.
She immediately turn her head to look at me, I turned my head to look at her face too.
"I-I'm sorry if I surprised you, I just wanted to talk with you..." I said with a smile at the end as she nodded.
I turn my head facing the sea again as she did too, creating an awkward silence between us until I decided to break it.
"The sea is beautiful, right?" I asked and she nodded.
"I wanted to swim and dive in it but..." I trailed off as I look down at my feet on the sand then I move back a bit when the water tried to reach it.
"I was traumatized by the sea when I was young..." I said to her.
"But it's okay, at least I can still enjoy some great activities not involving swimming-" I trailed off when she crouch down to pick up a seashell.
I watched her inspect the shell as she smiles at it and decided to go around the place to pick up some more.
She walk towards me and give the seashells to me.
"Oh wow, these are...very pretty..." I said while staring at the seashells on my hands, they are very unique and pretty to be honest.
I watched her pick up some more when I saw my stepbrother bump her and her falling down to the sand.
I was about to drop the seashells and walk towards them before my stepbrother help her get up and pick up the seashells she dropped.
What the hell?
She then walk back to me to give me the seashells.
What happened to him? Why did he become so nice so suddenly?
