Chanyeol peek at Kyungsoo from behind his seat. The latter was busy solving a math equation and frowning every now and then. He snicker under his breath because Kyungsoo looks really adorable being confused but of course he wouldn't admit that.

It's been a week since they filled their university application. Chanyeol is dead curious where Kyungsoo is going since he have this selfish thought that he still wants to be near him. It has always been like that, to be where Kyungsoo is at.

Perhaps this feelings he harbors still confuses him as to why is it strong that doesn't seem to be fading away soon. Maybe it'll change in the future, maybe it won't; either way he do not care. The excitement of seeing his best friend has always been so pleasing to him.

Finally, Chanyeol thinks that it's time to distract Kyungsoo because the boy has been frowning so maybe he needs a little distraction.

"What are you doing there?" Chanyeol walks to him and pull a chair infront of Kyungsoo, sitting down, "you look like you're solving a world crisis."

"Shut up, I'm trying to concentrate." Kyungsoo shush him, still focusing at the numbers on the calculator.

"The answer is pretty simple though, I could teach you if you want." Chanyeol grins while he takes peek at the equation.

Kyungsoo sigh and put his pencil down, "That's it. I gave up on maths. Make sure you'll teach me good and help me get an A for finals."

"You know you can always trust me, baby boy." Chanyeol wink flirtatiously at Kyungsoo and the latter feel genuinely disgusted by it.

"Fuck off."

Chanyeol's laugh boom inside the classroom and thank God there's not many students around. "What university did you apply tho? I hate you for keeping it a secret from me and not telling me where've you been last week. You know how I hate being alone." It's true, lately Kyungsoo has been a little out of reach with the constant absence. They haven't been talking too since he's not always around anymore.

"You always tell me where you're going before, am I not your best friend anymore?"

Kyungsoo shrug and rest his chin on his palm, "Stop being a baby, you could live without me well."

"First of all, I could never." Chanyeol make sure to look at him straight in the eyes to prove him that he's serious. Kyungsoo is taken aback about how serious he sounded and forced to look away, breaking the eye contact. Chanyeol continues, "So tell me where you've been?"

Kyungsoo shift his attention at the sky outside, yet to answer Chanyeol's question. The latter knit his eyebrows, a little confused. "Kyungsoo?" He calls him out.

"Well," Kyungsoo start, "Well to answer your questions, I went to my grandma's house. Also, I decided that I'm not going to any university."

The shock expression is clear on Chanyeol's face, "W-what? Why?"

Kyungsoo turn his gaze to Chanyeol, smiling wistfully, "I'm moving away to my grandmother's place. She needs me there."

Chanyeol is speechless. Move out? Not applying to any universityㅡ "Kyungsoo, are you serious?"

"I can always chase those dreams later. Besides, there's a life even if I don't end up being in college anyway."

Chanyeol is still confused, still couldn't find himself uttering a word. He wanted to ask so much, he wants to know why but he could only bring himself to ask one, "Are you leaving me alone now?"

"Idiot, of course not, we could meet sometimes, we could make time. I'll call you and we can have video calls and visit each other." Kyungsoo reassure with a smile and Chanyeol find himself calm, because for sure, they will always still have each other even being miles away.

They ended up losing contact. Lost contact, completely. Kyungsoo waved him goodbye during graduation and just like that, he disappeared.

Chanyeol stopped searching eventually and continued with his life. He pursue being medical doctor and continue his training under a hospital, where by fate, he bumps into Kyungsoo.

Do Kyungsoo, a patient who suffers with a lung cancer.
